It's only been 24 hours, and I'm already sick of all the jokes. A certain "friend" of mine who shall remain nameless went as far as to call me up last night for the sole purpose of laughing sarcastically in my ear.Here's my humble opinion: Anyone who can look at the name and giggle for hours thinking about bodily functions should go back to watching reruns of "Beavis and Butt-Head" and leave us gamers the hell alone.

I said that I was afraid of my Wii getting stolen, since I love it so much and they're still very hard to come by these days, in class and people thought I said I was afraid of having my weed stolen. Apparently 'Wii' is supposed to sound like 'we' as in 'us', alluding to its wifi and mass appeal.

For those of you who have a Wii, I have advice reguarding Miis: If you have guest over, make 2 extra Miis. (One male and the other female) Make sure you name the male one "Guest B" and the female one "Guest G" Or if their friend who often come over, let make and name their own

for those who don't understand what Wii means, Nintendo officially announced it's pronounced like "we" and it means exactly that. it means it's a console anyone can play, no matter how old you are, and whether you have ever played a video game in your life or not.

I don't care for the name either way. I'm just disappointed that I won't get to play Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3. It ends there. I have not regretted getting the Wii one day since I got it. I'll glady trade graphics for gameplay any day of the week. [link]

The only people who find this name funny are: english-speakers and retards. Seriously, I don't even find whee-whee funny, Wii sounds like 'we' to me, and it's not because I'm sour. There's too much retardness around me.
Besides, english grammatical rules are messed up. How can "wee" sound "wi" (for an spanish speaker at least) while the 'e' itself makes the exactly same sound? makes no sense.
BTW, revolution sounded sooooo corny. Way to obvious.

And in defense of the Wii, I would much rather have a platform that not only is able to play some of the greatest classic games of all time (Super Mario Bros., Metroid, The Legend of Zelda, Sonic the Hedgehog, Excitebike, Star Fox 64, and the list goes on and on...), and is actually TRYING to be original in the way they make their video games, than own an updated version of an already existing system whose only real selling point is one copyrighted game, while the rest of their software are just games that you can buy for the system that you already own.
I would much rather spend $250.00 on an original system than shell out $300 or $500+ on something that is just going to end up like every other system that came before it; manufacturing the same refried games with just a different wrapper. And I could care less what the thing was named.
...Plus it takes a lot of trust in your consumer to produce a controller that you could accidentally end up throwing at the television and breaking the damned thing. For this, I respect Nintendo a great deal.

I'm ashamed to say I was one of those guys... For the first two days or so. Then I just disliked the name for a while. Then I finally overcame my own stupidity. I'm still not perfect, I s'pose. I kinda pronounce it "Wih." Almost. But now I'm just annoyed by people who dislike the name. I love it.

About the Revolution name, Nintendo always uses "code names" for their consoles, GameCube's "code name" was Dolphin.

Thank you! Y'know it wasn't so bad the first three times I heard it, the name does seem kinda silly at first, but after the....3000th time it gets a bit....mind numbingly annoying. XD Good job. People should leave the lame jokes behind and focus on what the name really means - fun and innovation.
