Description
I was inspired to bring back some fan characters for Dragon Ball I came up with about 20 years ago, with updated designs and back story to account for the more recent developments and the fact that I'm not a 13 year old kid anymore. As hinted at by the title, there's something more to these Saiyans than meets the eye, but I'll reveal that more when I post their transformations.

In order from left to right:

Také - A big, intimidating Saiyan, his physique belies his true nature. His fighting style actually emphasizes his speed and agility over raw power, and he is actually fairly average in strength among the rest of his five compatriots. He tends to be fairly relaxed and enjoys playing games and reading. His design started as a sort of alternate version of Nappa, but I wanted to give him a square look and ended up incorporating some airbender traits, like Zaheer's nose and a Tenzin style beard to give him the look I wanted.

Reson - A no-nonsense kind of woman, she is one of the strongest fighters of the group, and capitalizes on her increased flexibility and her knowledge of a judo-like Tsufurujin martial art. She can seem a bit cool toward outsiders, but she has a strong maternal instinct toward all her friends. She tends to clash with Karashito, but they usually form an effective Bash Brothers type unit. Her design was meant to be reminiscent of Gine crossed with Raditz, as if she were a descendent of an alternate universe version of Goku's ancestors.

Sunōpī - A Saiyan halfbreed with the Freeza race, obviously achieved through genetic engineering. She represses her full power much like the other mutant members of the Freeza race, and in her first form she matches the power of the similar-age Trunks, but her full power true form is far stronger than Goku's base form, and able to hold her own with Super Saiyan Goku. She is a cold and antisocial, a result of her childhood of experimentation, but has a strong inner desire for connection.

Karashito - An impulsive and proud Saiyan, despite not having been a recognized warrior, his time spent on Plant ended with his power level matching even the esteemed warrior Cabba. He has explosive power and doesn't like to hold back like other Saiyans, instead putting everything he has into the beginning of the fight. While this tends to burn him out, his determination will often keep him going long past what should be possible. His design is partially meant to resemble Toma from the Bardock Special as well as Beets from the DBS movie, being tall and lanky but with a masculine face.

Bītorū - A seemingly sweet, bubbly Saiyan, in a fight she is in fact the most merciless and unbending fighter. She will meet most attacks head on and stubbornly break through them, which is her approach to most problems she encounters. She most often ends up teaming with Také, as his speed and agility and her slow but relentless strength complement each other. For her design I wanted her to be more circular to give a soft façade, and her hairstyle was based on one of Toriyama's sketches of the old Saiyans.
