Description Sorry for not posting anything new in a long while. Work has me busy this fall. I will say I have five illustrations in the pipeline. 4 for the Sisters of Battle and one of my brother's tank conversion. To hold you over here is a sketch I did of the Imperator along with the internal workings.

Must be hard to go to church when it's moving around killing things.

That is one big, scary robot! My friend is a huge fan of Warhammer 40,000 and told me all about these things. Only a crazy person would challenge one of these, with their immense size, firepower and the fact that they're filled with thousands of pissed off space marines.

I just read the novel Storm of Iron. There was a really cool battle between an Imperator (Dies Irae of Legio Mortis) and an Warlord.

impressive piece of work, must have been really tricky making the see through fit with the solid

It was tricky but I've been drawing the insides of things for years. I always liked technical illustrations and would check them out from the library as a kid, along with other drawing books. So when I sketch I can guess more or less what goes where and just pen it in.

In the grim darkness of the forty first millennium, there are only titan's with churches for feet.

A titan, that carries troops in the leg.
That is really great. the scary thing is that it is a walking battleship.

A very nice peice. Nicely captured in all its Titan Glory, for the Imperator is what it is, a fortress on legs.

... So they hold mass in the legs? That'd get uncomfortable!

The Imperator is, size-wise, comparable to a small walking city. Each leg houses hundreds of Space Marines, ready to disembark on a moments notice.

they wont get uncomforable. the space inside each foot is HUGE. you would have to be insane to take on an imperator titan.

Right before the Space Marines disembark I can imagine their Chapter Master delivering a firey sermon from a pulpit directly in front of them. What you don't see is that on the stadium seating there is a shoulder harness to hold them in place while the titan moves. I've thought about making a more detailed illustration of just the leg and maybe even modelling it just for kicks.
