A Sea Odyssey - in remembrance of the sinking of the Titanic.Liverpool - April 2012
A 30ft (9m) giant girl and a 50ft (15m) giant man moved separately before meeting at the city's waterfront.
In a finale to the day, the giant man, assisted by a crane, leapt the city's 44ft (13.5m) Chinese arch.
The event is inspired by a 1912 letter written by a 10-year-old Liverpool girl to her father who died on the Titanic.
More than 250,000 people attended the three days of the Sea Odyssey production which concludes on Sunday.

Well - in the late 1800s and early 1900s Lierpool was the richest city in Europe, but the Frist World War put paid to that! YEs, it went through 50 years of austerity - leading to massive and poor areas and people. But in the last 10 years or so it's been on the up and up. YEar of culture two years ago - and seen as a centre of creativity and innovation. Yes, it still has poor areas, and it's not the richest city by far, but there is a lot of activity going on here!

It was an amazing three days! My biggest regret was that I didn't go and see them every day!!!
Saw them on the last day of the event, it was incredible. Very emotional.

Yeah I've heard she has been around the world. It really worked for Liverpool - over 1 million people came from outside Liverpool to see the whole event - over 3 days. amazing!

haha thanks. Actually it wasn't creepy at all - the girl was lovely - thousands of people gathered around her and shook her hand and gave her gifts and things. And she was very funny - it was like a street theatre on a massive scale. And her dog was awesome too ([link] )! I was lucky to get this shot - there were so many people around!! thanks for your comment.

YEah - it was an awesome sight. Her 50foot uncle was amazing too - he jumped over the Chines Gate in Liverpool - its about 30 ft high!!! I didn't see it but it must have been amazing! thanks for your comment.

Oh right! Yeah I think the French designer is very famous (as well as a bit nuts!!). It was an amazing spectacle! The titanic has strong connections with Liverpool and a lot of Liverpudlians died on board. Hence the masses of people who went to see it. Thanks for the comment!

I've seen them in Antwerp. They where pretty cool, The theme was "the diver and the girl".
And they also had a theme with the girl and her spaceship.

Oh right - I didn't know they had been other places too. they said on the radio today that over 1 million people went to see them and it brought £10-12 million into the Liverpool economy. Amazing!!
