Description This is one of the many desktops i use and my main one at school right now. i keep gettin told that i will offend people if i keep using it, but frankly i just dont care. I am in no way a nazi or a supporter of hitlers methods of carrying out his plan. I do admire though certain things about the empire that he built as i do with any great civilization.

anyway, this is very simple and plain but i like it. the third reich eagle is a cool symbol to me.

While browsing the political category for mainstream anti-war/anti-American bullshit at 4 in the morning, I was amazed to find such large quantities of Nazi-glorifying wallpapers. I was even more amazed when I read some of the comments people where making to said wallpapers. To all of you who are making comments in the line of "I am no Nazi, but I admire some of the great things Hitler did for his country". I imagine much of this to be adolescent ramblings, stated mainly to shock others and contribute to an image of being slightly out of the ordinary and thinking in "new" and "exciting" ways. To you, and all others who may have any silly reason to admire "a great leader", I would like to say this: The third Reich and all of its gruesome crimes, as well as the majority of dictatorships throughout history was only possible because of politically retarded people such as yourself. Hitler was not a genius, like some of you have suggested. He only recognised other people's ignorance, desire to be governed and fascination with strong leaders and took advantage of that. How on earth can you be amazed by a dictator when it is so obvious that so many yearn to be ruled over and controlled? I know none of you sheep will ever acknowledge any of this, but it was just one of those things which had to be said.

PS: Please excuse my english as it is only my second language.

I would've thought his biggest mistake was .. probably attacking russia unprepared / attacking on 2 fronts

He was an idiot. He practiced his speeches a lot, he got good at them. That is how he won over the people. I guess you could say he was a brilliant orator.

Haven't you ever noticed the crazy people usually believe what they are saying the most? That is why they are the most convincing.

Hey there; just on a side note I am gonna defend this wallpaper, even though most people would smack me for it *such as fellow above*. When it comes to symbols and meanings, its clear to note that the Swastika is actually a symbol used over many cultures (Take the chinese forever where it is actually a letter [wan] which generally means "a great many", "infinity", etc; or the fact it was a pagan sign for the god of thunder, etc etc). The only difference with the Nazi use was to place it on an angle; attempting to use it as a source of historical reference and of their new power. I do not belive the banning of symbols (would one like us to ban everything that the numbers 88 [8th letter is H, HH, or Heil Hitler]?), simply due to the fact no one can safely determine the true meaning of a symbol relative to a use. Many people rave on and on about the Nazi's without even taking a simple look at their own past. The Nazi's were FAR from the worst force in the last century. They gained prominace due to the fact WW2 was such a major factor in our recent history, and that (I am not trying to sound Anti-Semetic, but this will sound bad) our media is heavily Jewish controlled. (If you do not agree with that, please do some research on the histroy of film and television in america, its actually quite the fact) In this day and age of "Tolerance" we are continually given negative images of Islamic cultures (I know I know, thats "changing", but keep in mind, Palestine is still underfire by our media, when Israel is still an aggresive force which is hardly innocent). If we are trying to censor the world from "hate" such as the Nazi and their symbols, then why haven't the Japanese been held accountable for their acts in this century! The nazi's could be safely estimated at killing 12 million jews, some will say less, or slightly more, but this about the accepted average. The japanese, during the Sino-Japanese war (which continued all through WW2; and started shortly before btw) killed over 35 milllion chinese. Human experimentation, evisceration, and let us not forget, the largest mass rape in all modern history (Nanjing - 20,000 to 40,000 chinese women raped over 3 weeks in a single city). The japanese were barely held accountable, many of the major players who helped these horrors occour managed to either avoid, or get off with a slap during war crimes trials. Our tolerant, and civilized nation let the LARGEST mass murder in history go unnoticed, for a few (over simplified, but hopefully this will make you go and read up about Manchuria...) reasons. The west abhors communists like the chinese, they wanted the mass ammounts of bio-warfare and medical research the japanese collected from torturing the chinese, and that our media needed to focus its anger on a people who hurt it the most. Why isnt the Japanese flag banned? The US is hardly a non-partizan nation (Neither is Canada, we've become a puppet state to the US IMHO....), and before you should go out and start condeming people who see nothing wrong with a SYMBOL, a PICTURE, or a WORD, its possible you should step back and see just what you loose when you rely on the doctrine you've been fed for the last 60 years.

I say full power to you bigdaddyk. I have come to resent my US neighbours due to their ever increasing appraoch to invisible censorship, and I keep hoping for the day when the people in power have enough sense to see that everyone is at fault for the actions in the past, not a small group of people, or a symbol they might have used. (Y) Never let someone stop you with your right to read, see, or even speak. Thats what the true America should be; not this CNN worshiping monster.

Cheers!

Maybe all this shit wouldnΒ΄t be so funny if you were living in germany back in the 1930`s,

Not even Nazis were safe from Himmler`s girlfriends... not even themselves.

In the end of the day, your existence was only a extension of some other bigger naziΒ΄s will

... But today! OH well! today is easy to play nazi at school... makes you diferent... but always ignorant!

You should read more history, since your school cant give it to you.

I spent an entire day talking with this person and learning everything i could about their struggle.. i am well aware of the rise and fall of the Nazi empire so dont begin to lecture me on ignorance.. you have no idea what you are talking about so just keep out of it..

IΒ΄m pleased to learn that from you... thank you.. and sorry if u felt it more personally than it was meant...

My parents lived in a fascist dictatorship that lasted until 1974... in 1969 they split to Germany, I was 4 when we won our freedom back.... My parents were 25... After 1976 we return to our newlly democratic country... Portugal... but back in the day Comunism was the main ideology that helped the revolution, so I remember living the comune way of life, slowly we achived our true democratic intent... so I lived with fascists its victms and Its liberators....

Heil! Herr Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and Frau Freya von Moltke

It is true that the swastica itself has about the same meaning like the Ying-Yang symbol, and that meaning is quite powerfull and nice.

But it's a fact that since the nazi's used the symbol, it lost it's neutrality and innocence... the only thing it has done eversince is hurting people, pushing people back into memories of what happened to them or their family...

Do you really dont care at all about offending people, like you wrote in your description? I cant understand that! ...So using a symbol that you like is more important to you than not hurting people? well... congratz in that case, you are such a loving and wonderfull human being... irony dude, irony...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

bigdaddyk In reply to whitelotus [2004-05-24 15:13:25 +0000 UTC]

first off for the peace symbol in native american culture you have to reverse the symbol.. secondly, how is a symbol hurting anyone? its not my fault that the person takes offense at it. taking offense at a symbol is nothing.. its the feeling behind the symbol that matters. not to mention i dont see what is ironic. the fact that i dont care about offending people? if someone gets offended at just the symbol then blames me for it.. that seems sort of ignorant dont you think?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

whitelotus In reply to bigdaddyk [2004-05-24 16:37:54 +0000 UTC]

nope, it is ignorant in my opinion to keep on using a symbol that lost it's neutrality. Especially when you are aware of what feelings it brings too people... if you know about something that it will hurt someone if you use it... and you dont hurt yourself by not using it... well then... what's the sense in using it? Ok, call this utilitarism if you want too... in this case it's not bad to think utilitaristic...
*sorry if there are any typing or writing or grammar mistakes in here, donno if the word utilitarism is correct, but yeah... english is only my 4th language so... I'm sure you will forgive me*

The ironic thing in my comment was that (i dont remember it that good any more) but i think i said something about what a caring person you are if you dont care about offending people like you wrote in the description, well that about you as a caring person, was meant ironic...

My biggest thing in this whole deviation was the sentence: I dont care if I offend someone with this... that's strong dude... really respectfull... (irony...) --> you understand what i mean with irony now? The fact that i say that you are really respectfull is ironic in this comment (yeah explaining that right here allready otherwise I'd have to do that later anyway)

--> like this emoticon more than a thundercloud that's exploding... luckily not everyone has the same taste
Take care!

Little or big dictators are building by destructing and giving hope to their people by killing minorities and extending their territories with endless wars.
Do you admire this kind of people?????

Hitler and all his friends are from the level 0 of humanity and trying to extend their power by stroking the lowest instincts of men.

publishing nazi symbols and uniforms is like publishing SHIT!
There is a law in France that forbids all publication of this kind of objects.
America, the representative state of freedom and democracy, allows this.
I still dont understand why.

this style was coppied by every dictadure fo the last century. I love the meanning of the gamade cross, but I have to say anything about the use of it. It's right have ideas by own, but this symbol was use to concrete uses, despite you want to use it only for the stetic or some national sozialist empire, people (me too) can't view this symbol without think about the carnages, crimes, hate, and pain that this symbol and the III reich done in this world.

In my University said that some symbols have an indicudual character, an inner meanning that it couldn't be separated from it. I think this symbol is one of them.

I like it, but i can't aprobe it.
