Description So I just posted a photo of some beetle.- Why? There's a story to this picture:

This is Pupa-Boy. Why is that his name? Because when I found him, he was a pupa. I knew he was going to be some kind of beetle from the looks of it.
Last month, while I was digging out the vegetable garden, I found a grub, but it wasn't like any of the other grubs I encountered. This one had a grub tail wriggling in a yellow casing taking the form of what looked like a beetle. I buried him in my salamander tank, hoping that one day he would emerge from his pupa, and that I would be able to see him grown up.
This morning, I went to spray the salamanders, and something caught my eye- a little beetle, about the size of my thumbnail was just walking around above the soil. I immediately knew what it was. It was Pupa-Boy! Finally grown up and ready to take on the world!

This picture was taken before I let him go. I did a little research and found out that he's either some kind of dung beetle or june beetle. He might be a different color due to just hatching from his pupa, and his wings seem a little short.

I hope you liked that story. I found it very interesting!

I thought it was a June-bug, because I have many of those lying about my house:EW:, but your probably right about an earth boring-beATle. You are such a kind person! most people would throw something like that away, but you gave the bug a chance to live. You are a good person, the world needs more peeps like u.
..Puppa boy. XD

Love the story. But I thought dung beetles live in Africa.
Don't you live in America? Or am I confused?

No. I wish I did XD.
Dung Beetles can be found anywhere except Antarctica.

Really? I usually watch documentaries and I think they neglect to tell us that Dung Beetle can live anywhere that normal bugs can live. (I say this because a variety of wingless fly can live in arctic climates. It's called a midge)

Yeah. I dunno, Dung Beetles are ground beetles, so maybe the frozen earth is difficult to burrow through, but the rest of the land is inhabitable. I think grasshoppers can live in the arctic too.

Maybe it isn't a dung beetle, I just saw that the pictures of the Earth-Boring Dung Beetle had similar shape and antennae that this one had, and I saw somewhere that said "Dung Beetles can live on any continent except Antartica".

Well, still, my mother thinks that you must love animals, since I assume that your username is a reference to the many animals you live with, one of them being a beagle. (My assumption came from reading about you.)

I have three cats. An 18 year old and two 7 year olds. The 18 year old one is a regular shorthair mix, while the two 7 year olds are Norwegian Forest Cat mixes (They had different fathers).

Yeah I love animals. If I had my way, I would own a rat and a chicken too, but I have cats, and I admit that I like cats more. XD
I used to have 6 cats. The two oldest ones died, (one died 2 or 3 years ago, the other died this past winter) and the youngest ran away a year ago (I miss her terribly. She was like a child to me ;_; ). I have 3 now. The oldest one is about 15, she's a black cat (melanistic tabby), then there's Mitten, who's about 14 (She's Mao's younger sister by a different father) and a 5-year-old silver tabby unrelated to the other 2 named Friskin. :3 And I have 2 dogs: Charlie (the Beagle) who's 12-years-old and Tish, who's 7. I don't know if she's a Carolina dog, or a Shepard/Shiba mix. Also, my oldest brother's dog is currently living with us. His name is Hunter, he's 8-years-old, and he's a Black lab/Husky mix.

I wish I could own a chameleon, but then again, they're wild and I live in the Seattle-temperate rainforest area. The reason for a chameleon is that I could learn how to "read" people by "reading" my chameleon's colors (Chameleons change color to emphasize emotion, not to camouflage.). That and he can eat bugs that come near me.

I wish that I could own a hedgehog. But then again, the younger cats will try and kill it if they figure out how to get to its underbelly. They used to terrorize field mice who would get into the old house I used to live in. (In retrospect, I realized I became a hero among field mice because I would set them free if I found them alive.)
