A single tear runs down my cheek, as I stare blankly across the field. A wind blows through the trees and I close my eyes and let her kiss my face. She whispers to me softly as I inhale deeply drinking in Her cool, crisp spring air. Chilling my lungs and filling the empty space I've grown accustomed to.

She is my oldest friend, my greatest teacher, my comforter and my escape. I exhale slowly, the cold air now warm against my lips as she leaves my body. I am still here. I am still me. I feel lighter then I did before.

I sit in silence as she sings around me, her ebb and flow a rhythmic dance.

Breathe.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.

Breathe.

Sometimes the most effective way to "Change Your World" is simply to immerse yourself in it. It's easy to lose sight of the bigger picture in difficult times but if you take the time to simply be in nature, away from man-made interference, the change happens from within, breathing new new life into your soul.

In this series of self-portraits I was hoping to capture the rejuvenating change that being in nature has on my being. The photos were created almost entirely within my camera using multiple exposures - merging self portrait silhouettes with natural imagery, the two intertwining and changing into something new. I wanted to keep the photographs as raw as possible so it was important for me that the only changes I made in photoshop were the Circle frames and typography.
