Description First run of my Rorschach Grappling Gun cosplay toy! Have some thoughts for suping up the second run a hair, I learned a lot from this run. I hope their owners have as much fun playing with them as I had creating/building/testing them!

If you would be interested in being included in the second run of these puppies, please drop me a line! (For those who missed the prototype, they all fire their grapples.)

Additional views: Closed Position and Open Position

And that's one of the reasons I haven't had time to draw much lately.

Watchmen doesn't belong to me. But this crazy fan-toy I've engineered does. Except for the ones sold, those now belong to the buyers but that's beside the point.

Edit: a note- All guns picture here are SOLD. If you are interested, you must sign up for the second run.

Are these cast from original sculptures or is it a mod of an existing nerf or watergun?

All parts are hand crafted by me, no modding done. @A@

I'm especially proud of the piston chamber. X)

Answered my own question! I saw your website. Nice work! Very nice work! Nice shop too. I had to ask, I have seen too many people trying to pass off nerf props as their own.Keep up the great work!

Around how much will you be selling the second run?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bilious In reply to ellensama [2010-08-04 20:04:19 +0000 UTC]

Still will be $500. It's a tricky project with hundreds of individual unique and often hand-made parts. My price is more than fair for the work involved.

SIGH. Still want one of these so bad. D;

Also, you need a pic of you as Rorschach with TWO of these bad boys. It would be too intense!

Stupid question: Do they work?

Bilious In reply to Emma-Neko-Catlin [2010-07-14 02:43:08 +0000 UTC]

They do! The blades have popping-out action and it also fires!

I wouldn't recommend climbing them, though, it is a fantoy.

Emma-Neko-Catlin In reply to Bilious [2010-07-14 02:44:18 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that was my next question. I don't know many people that would use the right gauge wire for a fan toy XD. Impressive and awesome none the less ^_^

Bilious In reply to Emma-Neko-Catlin [2010-07-14 02:47:31 +0000 UTC]

Ffff so many custom bent sprinnnnngggssss... but it's just the right gauge for what it is.

Bonewick [2010-07-14 02:03:46 +0000 UTC]

Wiat, weren't you selling these for like $200? Or something expensive, you must be rich right now *__*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Bilious In reply to Bonewick [2010-07-14 02:24:20 +0000 UTC]

$500 is my lowest price. XD Technically the first run helped pay for ramping up and making the molds. I have not yet seen any profit due to cutting all costs I can to bring the price down as much as I could. Hoping to change that if I can speed up and tighten the whole process in the second run. EASY COME, EASY GO.

I'm making a career out of this sort of thing, so hopefully in the future I'll be able to add some more zeros to my projects than this for how many hours involved. XD At least I've got more prop making gigs from this!

FFFF *head explodes* Wow :0 I think that this will be a good area of business! If I were you I'd look into movie prop making as well, you certainly have the skill *__*

**Steals you and runs away with you** Mwahaha, I have a female weird Al lookalike!

IT IS WHAT I DO.

Also dad just announced to me that his hands hurt really bad and he's semi retired now so apparently all these delicious tools now belong to me. I've got a bigger band saw than most girls my age.

One of our vacuum pumps can empty out all of the air in a 747 air craft in like minutes, I believe. Just one of them.

Maaaaaan I'm still amazed we threw out that 20,000lb vacuum former a couple years ago. Apparently it cost like $6 a minute to run, but ended up paying for itself and so when the time came Dad and his partner just like ripped the whole thing apart. ;A; I remember being a kid and him letting me press the big red candy-like button that made the magic happen.

For what I need I can make a jerry-rigged version, but I'm seriously considering looking into a smaller vacuum former at some point too. XD ALL IN GOOD TIME. Gotta' have the need for it first, not just the toy-factor. >:C

Ekuneshiel In reply to Bilious [2010-07-14 05:04:56 +0000 UTC]

Oh the things I would make if I had those kind of toys. I've wanted a vacu-form ever since I saw one in the 3D design lab in college!

Bilious In reply to Imea [2010-07-14 01:23:38 +0000 UTC]

For now, I'm keeping the original pre-order price of $500. It may go up in the future, depending on many things. Considering each are hand made, hand cast, hand assembled and hand tested by one person (me) that's not a lot. XD

I also have custom-fit carrying cases for an additional $95. (recommended for storage and transportation- even has a handy shoulder strap! And a lock if you're feeling paranoid. )
