Here is another work of Revontheus's Monthly Avatar...The last one which I'll be doing for this year. It's a 'painting' of the older version of Rev.I did it mainly using flash with a few 'touch ups of photoshop'. Everything was doing using a mouse no tablet so its pretty annoying and hard to 'attempt' to blend the colours. So pardon that fault.
So I hope that this might show people that nothing is impossible. You CAN make art using a mouse, you've just got to try.

First of all, awesome update. I think it's definitely worthy of being your symbolic monthly avatar.
Straying from what you've already said about the brightness, I think this piece needs a little more contrast. Even with my brightness on the highest setting, and I have a bright screen, it's a bit hard to differentiate the eyepatch from the hair, and, if I weren't an AE player, I might not have known. That being said, though, since this is meant to be a dark piece, don't add to much contrast, like outlining the lines with white.
Another thing I don't like about the piece is that it seems like the hair and the face were made separately, because they have varying qualities. It just seems to me that the hair's more detailed and just a higher quality than the face. My problem with the face is that it's a bit too painted on; in digipainting, this is one of the biggest mistakes, so I'd suggest you maybe contour the features a bit more.

I like this, heaps, just, the lip colour looks a bit out for me, just dosnt sit right with the rest of the work. Apart from that its amazing.

Oh you might have to turn your brightness all the way up because I kind of did this at night with the lights off so my computer screen was like at max...Didn't know it turned out so dark
