Rain is single edge razor blade and xacto.

So I take it that the paper was of a nice thickness? Otherwise I cannot figure how not cut through it

Just regular 2 ply bristol board is fine. 500 series Strathmore or equal is best. I use regular surface, not smooth or plate, but either should be OK.
The razor is just glided over the paper with just enough pressure to make it skip. I suppose a video would be good.
