" During the Equestrian civil war the Royal's were considered the weakest of the conflict despite having the largest armies, larger than the LPC and the SS combined. However, Celestia went on the radio and vowed to; "Not let a single territory fall to the enemy." This forced the majority of the royal armies to be guarding the many dozens of far flung islands and distant shores of isolated properties, stretching the armies very thin. The majority of the fighting was in cities and fields on the main land. Fresh reserves and untested troops did the hard fighting while the elite troops, like this Royal marine, were stuck on forgotten islands for 8 years, sometimes firing warning shots at SS and LPC scout ships but other wise sitting around doing nothing..."
