Art test for position at video game company. Was to make a photoshop concept of a variation on a Cylon, from TV: Battlestar GalacticaRelated content

The artwork I cannot fault - it's both beautifully drawn and designed. My personal...'bete noir', is it's too complicated. One of the things which made the re-imagined series' 'toasters' so... real, was that they were, in a way few people realised, as an almost 'male' machine next to the first truly beautiful one, in Metropolis'; 'Maria', as opposed to all subsequent robotics - from the 2 iconic machines designed by Bob Kinoshita - who created both 'Robby', of Forbidden Planet, and B9 (aka the 'Robot', of Lost In Space).. Again, I'm NOT 'knocking' this, it just seems counter - see-evolutionary, as it were, to what the Cylons THEMSELVES had built (as seen by the truly terrifying Cylon seen in Blood and Chrome)

Not really, just a play on the Original BSG Cylons. Some of the high ranking ones were gold so I made some changes, but made some more elaborate decorative choices to help them stand out.

nice use of bounce light, maybe enhance some highlights to make it pop more, good luck on that position, i know what its like applying to games companies, stressful times ahead

cheers i do try, ha .so hard to get a job in games , ive been trying for ages, very difficult in the uk, i find anyway, alot more companies in the US, maybe ill move!
