Reminds me of how the Tactical Insertion in CoD (which sucks ass, btw) is commonly referred to as a "campfire".

XD this made me laugh so hard, i actually have a good story for you, it was on kharg island, and i found a sniper just camping by the radio tower, so i dropped c4 right next to him and then set up my M240b right next to him, and started ripping into his friends down below, well suffice it to say he didn't pay any attention to that. He was perfectly content to sit there and continue sniping, well eventually we moved up but he continued to sit there. so as a going away present I got right into his scope with my face and pressed the clacker, BOOM! the last thing he ever got to see was a face full of russian.

5 miles is completely inaccurate. The farthest sniper kill in BF3 was around 1 klick, and thats only about half a mile.
