Well i do have the best type of paper for marker art. A bit heavier paper with a soft glossy layer. It makes blending marker colors a lot easier! Thank you!

Darn tentamenweek, no time to draw, but when I do have some time again I'll make another drawing with my markers in this style (the sketch is ready, the fineliner work is partly done, but what is time man QnQ)

And ah, tentamenweek. Mine is supposed to start today but I only have one exam. Lol. So I keep saying 'tentamenvakantie' instead, just to annoy my friends xD

indeed, people somehow think digital art is way easier to make than traditional art, which is complete rubbish. Ahh well, let's hope I can hold on to this style anyway ^^ On bokt I had some wonderful comments on the drawing and even some people asking me if I'd take commissions, so my motivation is quite high ^^ 

LOL I'm so jealous xD We have one tentamen every day so 5 in total. luckily I did the tentamen we have on thursday already a year ago during my study to become a nurse so I don't have to retake the test yayy So 4 tentamens for me. Too bad it's highschool all over again, doesn't matter if you're studying math or making a math exame/test in highschool, they never give you enough time T-T Couldn't finish my test....though, I think I did a good job on the parts I could fill in.

It makes me want to start trying to draw with markers as well but all my markers are either old and dead or crappy quality and dry in less then 2 seconds.
How exactly did you make all the white highlights?
Did you actually manage to keep those parts white while drawing or do you have something to add the white parts afterwards.


I've been doing fine, still trying to get myself to actually finish drawings so I can start uploading again.
It's weird seeing how much some of the old neopet people have improved the 1 or 2 last year.

How have you been doing though ^^

You should O,O What kind of markers do you have? Promarkers for example are around 3€ per color and a lot of times you can get them for 2€ which is really really cheap for markers!
I made the highlights with a white fineliner-like pen from edding. It's almost impossible to leave the white details white since the ink is a little bit running all the time. 

You should draw more you! And upload some shizzel here!
Pfffft you have been improving as well. The last time I saw drawings made by you your anatomy skills were growing each drawing. 

I'm doing quite okay. My aunt died a week ago and I'm stressed cause I also have tentamenweek right now so lots of stuff to do and not enough time T-T

Well, the dead ones are pretty ok quality but since most are dried out they're not reliable anymore.
I can put water in them to make them work again but the color will change everytime I do so.
And the other ones are just stabilos.

I could try getting myself a few but I hate having to buy markers per piece because I just know I'll end up having to go back 20 times because I'm missing a color.
I might buy a few next time I'm in a store that sells them though.

There are so many things I've started on I should finish or even things I have finished but didn't feel like scanning.
Right now I'm still working on a few 'I'm sorry I didn't finish my part of the trade 3 years ago and once I did I felt too ashamed to post it' drawings but I think I'll have a few things to upload by the end of this month.

Aah yes adding water makes the colors a lot more weak and the dominant color in a mixed color will come forward after some time. 

That's true xD Luckily I have tentamenweek right now cause for my new drawing I'm in need of more red colors and I only have 4 xD So next saturday I will buy some new markers again. Though they last pretty long and won't dry out so I definitely think it's worth the buy. You can also buy them in packs with all the shades together online sometimes btw ^^

Do you think it would give a better result if you added the water and then left them alone for a few days?
I'm just trying to avoid having to buy a whole set of markers.
Whenever I go to an art suply store the prices actually scare me.
*cough**cough* 100 euros for 20 pencils that are all blue/green *cough*

I know but I remember the prisma colour ones being pretty expensive when bought as a set.

I'm just really scared that you won't be able to see some of them propperly.
I have a portrait of one of my cats that I'm actually really proud of but since I always use really light shades of grey when making portraits you can barely even see it on pictures.
