Microsoft has protected those context menu items so they can't be edited.

Friends a new feature, to open a folder just put explorer.exe "C:\whatever folder\whatever subfolder" in the Path text box.
Example: explorer.exe "D:\My Songs\"

Is anything similar available for xp apart from windows powertoys?

XP does not support modifying the context menu like Vista and 7. You have to manually use Resource Hacker (or similar tool) to modify a DLL file.
