Description Electricity is another source of energy that some types of Odifunga have specialized to collect and utilize, and the nervous systems of complex animals is a good place to find it.  Species of the Dignitas genus are parasitic, anchoring themselves to a host with strong tendrils and boring a neuromast-packed rod through flesh into a neuron.  They use the electrical impulses to grow and generate a spore-filled jelly which is released when the body is compressed, which means the host has come into contact with something else (often a potential host for the offspring).
