Description Many of the earliest Cephalostomids to evolve resemble Earth lizards, so were named Squamoids. Armed with tooth-spined mandibles and an articulating maxillary rake, all Squamoids are carnivores, preying on animals ranging from tiny Annelipods to even mid-sized Cervoids. Most are solitary, but a few share communal nesting sites.

Actually, most early cephalostomids like these have a disconcerting taste that is like lamb stuffed with tarnished pennies and a texture akin to strings of rubber. I've found that not many people like that combination.
