Are your tampons usually made of glass and metal? If yes, I am sorry to inform you that that is not in fact a tampon and you may want to consult your local pharmasist for help finding some actual tampons.

Umm, I don't get it, what is Kiberlite?

Something called a Kimbrelite Pipe is formed when a superheated ball of magma is blasted from the core of the earth to the surface, forming a "chimney" of magma. When this magma hardens, about 1% of the time, it'll form diamonds. Kimbrelite pipes are what we get diamonds from.

sorry, but isn't it kimberlite? I did a research project on them for a geology class a few years ago, so I really love this kind of geekery, too. Beautiful design!

I suppose that's possible. In the US, though, they are definitely kimberlites.

being a paranoid conspiracy theorist myself, i don't find any of that hard to believe :/
However. My interest in diamonds is purely on a scientific level, as is my love of any gemstones. I like them for their properties more than their monetary value. Hell i prefer crystal over Zirconia. And you gotta admit, diamonds when cut right do have an awesome glitter factor :3

have you seen moissanite? It's technically a synthetic but actually has a higher refractory index than diamond. The original checmical specimen they replicate came in on a meteor. It's great stuff.

it's cool stuff. Generally it's brilliant-cut with a shallower angle on the table. It also has a really faint greenish tinge and displays "needling" under magnifiation.
cut feldspar also has a nice shine, but it's fragile.

I'm not sure how it stands up to heat.
You should check out Rio Grande's selection of synthetics. Alot of them have a sufficiently high heat tolerance to be cast in place.
also check out Arentium Sterling; it fuses, no solder required. it also conducts heat diffirently; I've seen people ball wires with pearls on them without burning the pearl.

I know Rio carries it. It's a bit more expensive than sterling, but I don't think it's too bad.
