Oh boy... Not to rain on your parade or anything, but as a Native American, I find this guy somewhat offensive; but I can't wait to read more!

I apologize for that. Let it be known that he is not supposed to be a good example of a more tribal culture. I have Native American in my lineage (Sioux), and I understand and sympathize with the plight of the native people of the Americas. That being said, James is exploiting the aspects of his own culture in order to commit crimes. He’s in a gang, not in a tribe.

Get out! I'm Sioux as well ^_^.
Yeah, I figured as much; he's of tribal descent but he doesn't respect his heritage. I've seen plenty of those guys in my mother's old hometown, and even among my cousins

What! Crazy. I have it on my mother’s side. Her great...grandmother, I think, was Native American. The rest of my family line is Scottish and Irish, though.
Yeah. I don’t mean to demonize Native Americans at all. That’s why I introduced Phil’s friend Jasper. The wolf in the wheelchair. He’s an American Wolf, and honors his heritage in his own way.

I have it from both my parents but my maternal grandfather is European, I have a mix of Scottish French and other countries through my mother. We're of Sioux descent but we're Caucasian
I know you don't mean to offend our culture and I'm enjoying the direction you're going here. James is obviously a bad person and not the right one for Sandy; I only hope she wises up to that (still hoping for her and Jack). The way he looks and says "You only have to do what I say no matter what", it disturbs me and makes me afraid for Sandy. Maybe Jasper will suggest Sandy get away from James? I realize she's not in a good place right now (in more ways than one) but she should know she can always turn to her brother, and with Kim gone she's safe

I’m glad you’re thinking that way. The only one who can save Sandy from this fate is herself, and she’s going to get a thunderous wake-up call that will change her life forever. A hint is that another character has already gone through something similar, but was in a much better place to deal with it. That’s all I’ll say.
