Overall

Vision

Originality

Technique

Impact

Let's start with vision. The plant you made is probably the best detailed in this picture. It looks very realistic. The same goes for its reflection in the water. This is the best part of this work. The sun is nicely shaped and placed among the clouds that are also good. The hills in the back are not too good but not bad either. The same goes for the water, you could be much better there I think. The bad thing that I didn't like is the bottom right area. Too low analysis for such prime part of the image.
Your technique is good, especially in the plants. The only thing you may missed is the direction of the plant's shadow. It is maybe a little off but that could be just my imagination.
Overall the image is great, if only you could fix the bottom right corner the image's ranking would go way up.

First of all thanks very much for the feedback.

I see what you mean about the bottom right, had a little dilemma on that part. At first I placed another bunch of reed there, then changed my mind for a pier and perhaps got too wild with the smudge tool. I'll heed your advice and fix it.

The hills, yes.. not quite sure what to do about them, since they shouldn't be really in focus, but maybe they could do with some more detail.

As for the reed's reflection/shadow on the water, you're correct, it's unrealistic.

I'll apply a few patches and update the image.

Could I get permission to use this as a backdrop for an animation in my Animation Class? Of course I will mention you in the credits, but this is mostly for private use otherwise.
