"Ne ne ne ne neeeee"

A faint buzzing traveling from ear to ear.

Consciousness slowly began flowing back to my head.

I was lying on my back, a dull light shining in my closed eyes. I felt heavy, like I could go back to sleep. But I also felt so disoriented I wanted to wake up and remember.
I opened my eyes and saw a tall tree watching over me, covered with pink flowers. Confused, I tried to sit up. My head felt like it had been slammed into, a painful headache hitting me. My eyesight was blurry and I thought I heard ringing in my ears.

Eventually my senses came back to me and my headache dulled. Upon closer inspection of my surroundings, I found myself sitting on soft pink grass underneath this tall tree on a hill overlooking pink fields of flowers. To the East, the sun began to raise, giving the sky a pink glow.

However I had no recollection of this place. What had happened the night before? I couldn't remember.
In fact I couldn't remember anything that happened the entire day before. Or anything really.

My heart beating quickly now with the looming possibility of total amnesia, I tried to get a grip on myself.
Who was I?

Blaze Frostburn. I at least knew my name.
Looking down at my hands and body, I remembered a little more. I remembered the feelings of being adored by others, but I didn't remember those who adored me. Seeing my multicoloured paw pads and long fur cloak that hung off my shoulders and back, I recollected the fact that I was different somehow, but I couldn't remember how.

"Hey!" A tiny, high pitched voice rang in my ear. Startled, I quickly turned my head towards the source.

A small creature, with long feet, flying with what looked like its ears was the source.

"Hey! Could you move your butt a few feet THAT way?!" The little sassy creature yelled, gesturing to the left.

Stuttering and surprised, I shifted my weight slightly to the left, and the creature flew down to where I was sitting.
On the ground there grew a small bunch of blue flowers with black centres, I hadn't noticed before but there weren't any others of them growing anywhere nearby. The creature pulled them out of the ground with what seemed like great effort.

"At least they didn't get squashed.." The creature said to itself with relief.

"Thanks, Chap!" The creature said to farewell and turned to leave. I had to stop it so I could ask some questions.

"Hey, wait! What kind of creature are you?" I finally managed to find my voice and call out to the creature.

"Are you blind? I'm obviously a Bunblebee!" The creature called out, and continued to zip away at great speed.

"Wait!" I called again, but this time the Bunblebee was too far gone.

I immediately regretted my choice of question and grunted to myself.

It was time that I stood up and tried to find some other people on foot.

At least I had ended up at a nice place. I couldn't think of any places other than nice, since I couldn't remember any places besides this one, but I felt as though there were far worse places to be stranded with amnesia.
The wind was flowing past in a light breeze, the temperature was just right and everything around me looked.. soft? That was the best way to describe it.

As I made my way down the hill I came across a paved, gravel path. It looked like the kind of path that would have been purpose built for traveling long distances. I was ecstatic with this discovery, and noticed what looked to be fresh wheel marks in the dirt, possibly a transport cart or even wagon.
The path stretched in both directions, and after thinking about it for a short moment, I decided to just choose a direction. I had no knowledge of the land or anything besides the strange creatures, 'Bunblebees', so it wouldn't make a difference which way I chose, as far as I knew.

I began following the path on foot. The walk would have almost been pleasant besides the worry currently gripping my mind. With each step I tried to recall a part of myself, a memory, a familiar face, a location, but nothing seemed to come to me.

In the distance I could hear a buzzing, unlike the one I had heard earlier. This buzzing was a low hum, and my good hearing could hear multiple sources of the buzzing. I quickened my pace to draw myself closer to the source of the noise, in case it could provide any clues.
As I got closer, I could see clearer now; in a small patch of flowers sat a group of three Bunblebees! Maybe they could help, I thought.

But wait. The Bunblebee from earlier was so much smaller than myself, I didn't want to startle this group of them by running at them on a quiet track, possibly in the middle of nowhere.
To my right I saw another bush of flowers, the same type that they were hanging out in, in the distance. I thought maybe if I held out a bouquet to them they would notice that I wasn't being hostile.

I grabbed a handful of the flowers and began making my way over to them slowly.

"Hey guys, I have some flowers too! Do you mind helping a traveler out?" I yelled out to them, holding the flower bouquet above my head.

I could see in the distance, their ear-wings perking up. Suddenly, the buzzing picked up again and the three Bunblebees came darting towards me. I was nervous but they were small, they weren't going to to try and mug me were they?

To my surprise they came right to the flowers and began licking up the nectar inside.

"Hey guys, can you please answer my questions?" I asked.

The Bunblebees continued feeding on the flowers in my hand, why wouldn't they talk to me?

"Hey, where are you going?!" I yelled in a panic, watching the bunblebees all fly away.
I was frustrated, they weren't talking to me at all, they were completely ignoring me! Even if the other Bunblebee I met had answered at least one of my questions, all of them that I had met so far had been very flighty.

I was determined though. Dropping the flowers that had been sucked dry, I clambered around in the field stretching along the path I was walking on, and tried to look for some more flowers to bribe them with.
I will admit, I was getting desperate. Maybe when I was telling myself that the weather and scenery was nice, I was just blocking out something bad that had happened. The same could go for all of the memories I had seemingly lost. Maybe I was in the middle of something bad happening, I wouldn't know because of my amnesia. Anxiety got the better of me after seeing my only contact with other life, literally flying away.

I wasn't thinking straight, and stupidly strayed from the traveling track in search of flowers. As I moved further and further away from it, the grass became longer, and more trees seemed to spring up. It was some time before I realised I was now in a forest. It didn't help my anxiety.
I tried going back the other way but by that point I was lost in the thick of it. Still feeling anxious, I attempted to calm down by taking a moment to do some breathing exercises.

When I calmed enough to work out a way out of this mess, I figured the best course of action was to first take a good look at my surroundings. To the right, yep, trees. To the left, more trees. Behind me, trees. In front of me, also trees. But! At the base of the trees in front of me, grew an interesting-looking bush. I approached the bush a little more, and sure enough. Cute, little, blue flowers stemmed from it.
They weren't much, but I felt closer to my goal at the time of attracting Bunblebees.
I felt even closer to it when I peered behind the trees and found that the flowered bushes seemed to stretch backwards in an almost straight line.

Excited, I skipped down the path of flowery bushes, looking for a bunch big enough to bribe the Bunbles.
As I followed the path, I began to see other types of flowers growing around. Ecstatic and hopeful, I grabbed handfuls of many different kinds as I traveled further down. When my (admittedly large) hand was full of flowers, I suddenly realised that at some point I had exited the forest and was now in an open clearing surrounded by nothing but the flower bushes.

"Oh, hello there!"

My ears picked up a small voice in the distance. I looked across the field and was met with a gesture that looked like waving. A person!
I was so happy, I dropped my handful of flowers and bounded off towards the source of the voice.

The person was not so happy with this however, and also dropped the basket of flowers they were carrying and scuttled off somewhere. When I got to where they were, I couldn't see them anywhere. They must have hid. I immediately felt embarrassed by my actions and explained myself.

"Ah, I'm sorry to startle you! I have had a rough day, but I'm so glad to find somebody out here!" I said.

Suddenly, I saw a little arm poke out from underneath one of the flower bushes and a head popped out of the top. A little pink face covered in leaves greeted me with a smile.

"Oh, hahaha how silly of me. I thought you might have been a uhhh, nevermind. I'm Famora, it's nice to meet you." Famora said.

I introduced myself in return.

Famora then said something that struck something in me,

"I'm impressed, you really don't see that many Fornlee around here."

Fornlee. Yes. I was a Fornlee. I remembered this much.

Not mentioning my amnesia, I continued to listen to her with a friendly smile.

"How did you find the fields here if I may ask?" Famora asked.

I told her about my ordeal and it looked like she tried to contain her laughter. My face turned red with embarrassment and she found that even more hilarious. She took a deep breath and continued,

"Bunblebees usually like the big yellow ones, you probably would have attracted Magneroos with these little flowers, they like to eat them."

"Mag.. ner.. oo?" I stuttered out in confusion.

Famora just smiled,
"Oh, you're a tourist and haven't seen the Magneroos yet? I would definitely recommend it! Here!"

Famora reached down into the basket at her feet and pulled out a neatly bundle of flowers, tied with a ribbon  and handed it to me. I thanked her.

Now that the pleasantries were exchanged, I knew it was now time to ask the more serious questions.

By talking with Famora, I found out that the place I had woken up in was called Fluffia. I had probably woken up around North West of a small town called "Hopville". She was kind enough to point me in the direction of the town, but said it was a few hours on foot.

The Bunblebees, she said, are not known to talk, and that many people keep them as pets. What was the Bunblebee that I spoke to in the morning then? I didn't push it since I didn't want to sound crazy, but I didn't dismiss the experience as being a dream. I am sure there is something more to that..

Famora also came from Hopville on foot. She came nearly every day in the morning to water the flowers. I helped her as a thanks for her help. I am sure I will never forget that first real friend I made in Fluffia.

After some time spent with Famora in the flower fields, I made my way in to town.
It did take some time to get there, but as I saw the little hut-tops in the distance I felt a sigh of relief. Though I think without Famora already spending some time talking with me, I would have been a lot more wound up at this point.

Suddenly out of nowhere, two (the dominant species who live on Fluffia are called 'Kryptox', I learned) sprang up from either side of the bushes that ran along the path and ambushed me.

I will spare the invasive details, but they saw the bouquet in my hand that Famora had given me earlier and assumed I was going on a romantic date of some kind?
They proceeded to, I will say, interrogate me.

Anyway, it wasn't long before their questions got a little bit too personal, and I was exhausted from the day of walking and worry. I am a little ashamed, but I felt the best course of action was to simply run the rest of the way into the town to lose their advances. Luckily my legs were longer and stronger than the Kryptox's.
