Description
Ever since he was a mere wurmple, Nykto was put within his place as a weak bug type. He was constantly mistreated, beaten for exp, and robbed of his food and shelter. He grew up spiteful, wary and hateful of everyone around him. He despised all pokemon he saw as they all saw him as beneath them.

On his final days as a cascoon, he was simply trying to find a place to settle till he evolved. But some wild mons came into his chosen spot and tried to bully him into leaving. He cursed at them and spoke nasty things which made them upset. Upset at his attitude, they set him on fire to burn him alive. All the while he cursed them and every pokemon in that forest and beyond. His resentment and spite pushed him to evolve, leaving behind his burning prison. It also led him to being much bigger than normal dustox and slightly different patterns. His colours were also different as a result of the fire.

This did not lead to a fear of fire, but rather a burning (hehe) passion to set things ablaze. After evolving into a Dustox, he found a human campsite and flew into the campfire. Using his body to carry the flame, he flew into the homes of the wild pokemon that harmed him, enacting his revenge. He would become a menance and living nightmare for the pokemon, commiting arson on their homes, choking their air with poison powder from his massive wings, verbally attacking and belittling them. This started to be a problem for humans too as the conditions in the forest became unbearable to trek through.

The town nearby called for Jayney to help deal with it. She caught him and brought him back to the ranch where she attempted to manage his destructive behaviour but to now avail. Seeing her client, Charma, and her natural bond with bug types, she asked if Charma could take him instead.

Charma worked with Nykto and they managed to bond. Charma treated him as an equal and was patient enough to showed she had genuine care for him and wasnt just trying to get into his good graces to control or be safe from him. He still hated pokemon and would torment Charma's other pokemon, starting fires and the usual. But he toned down his behaviour greatly, not wishing to disappoint Charma but outright doing it in front of her.

Charma acknowledged that outside of arson, Nykto was comforted by lamps and flames and felt more defenseless and restless without it. So she gifted him a lamp to attach to his tail. She told him to use it for comfort and potential self defense, but not for reckless harm to others. This lamp was a sign of her trust in him and he honored that trust.

Charma started to call him Dusty as a nickname (dustox and also the fact his wings flaked a lot). He allows no one except Charma to call him by this name.
