Life’s only worth living if you’re going at least 15 mph! Lavender is never seen without roller blades or ice skates on her feet, addicted to speed. Just the sheer joy of using her muscles keeps Lavender on the go, whether it’s trying out a new sport or just blasting through the place. Some might find her a little overwhelming in the amount of energy she exudes, but her happy and upbeat attitude finds her fairly popular among her peers. That said, Lavender is infamously blunt. She literally does not really know what tact means, so it’s not unusual for her to straight out ask why a person is wearing a toupee that doesn’t match his mustache or if this woman is really pregnant. It’s all in innocence, of course.
Lavender is incredibly helpful in nature, and strives to be supportive and friendly all the time. This is not as good as it sounds as it means she never really allows herself to have any “me” time. In fact, paying any positive attention to herself is painful, as the girl was harshly taught that her needs never matter as much as the person next to her. Whether it’s indulging in ice cream or turning down a solicitation for volunteer work on a busy week, Lavender is a regular guilt factory when it comes to treating herself nicely. When with someone else, all her senses are on high alert to make sure that they never ever feel the slightest bit unhappy. Lavender’s own happiness is pretty much dependent on the state of whomever she’s with, so it’s easy to string her along emotionally. Between her near constant guilt and her desperation to keep everyone perfectly happy (which is Herculean feat by itself), Lavender often becomes emotionally exhausted and burnt out.
Since she thinks it’s her job to keep everyone smiling, Lavender is like a weathervane in a storm—she will feel only whatever the other people in the room are feeling, whether good or bad. It’s hard for her to truly express her own emotions, since she’s spent so many years centering herself around someone else’s. There’s a lot of self-doubt there, and often the girl will blame herself if things go wrong even if they had nothing to do with her.
That’s not to say she doesn’t like making others feel good. While this quality of hers has been horribly abused, Lavender really does like making people happy. She loves being with friends, and has an easy knack for making new ones. Unpretentious, amiable and peppy, she has a way of putting others at ease. Well, unless you’re on the opposing team.
Lavender loves healthy competition. Her one true love is ice hockey, but her main hobby is trying new sports. Baseball, basketball, polo, hand ball, jai alai, tennis, track, Lavender’s tried them all several times. Except for golf. Golf is not a sport.
While Lavender is still healing from her traumatic childhood environment, she’s still fun, friendly, and a great sport to have on your team.

History:
It was just Lavender and her mother living together in a small apartment, for as long as she could remember. It was a solitary existence, as Lavender's free time tended to be taken up by spending time with her mom, on her mom's request. The woman hated being alone, and when her daughter seemed to be making friends with other children, would come down hard and separate the two. Lavender's life was dedicated to assuaging her mother's fears of isolation, of soothing her when she was agitated by work, and generally devoting all her young life to being an extension of her mother and a therapist aside. The two of them did have good times, in cafes and autumn walks, being each other's company during their many apartment moves, but Lavender felt trapped without realizing it.
In high school, she finally got a chance to come into her own when she tentatively signed up for an ice skating team. The coach, Woody, was kind and parental,
and quickly became a confidante to young Lavender. Through this gentle relationship, she began to see how skewed her maternal one was, and when the chance to go to a competition in another city cropped up, she was excited to attend.
Her mother's answer was an unequivocal "no". She refused to be left alone by her daughter, and accused her of conspiring to leave her altogether. Frightened by this and feeling ashamed and guilty, Lavender agreed to stay home.
Then mom demanded she quit skating.
Shocked, Lavender's first response was to refuse. It was her one escape in life, the only thing she found release in. Her mother flew into a rage, accusing her of planning to leave forever, of being ungrateful to her mother, of causing her mother pain.
Frightened, Lavender backed away, feeling the worst she had in her life. Just then a knock on the door sounded.
It was Woody, her coach. Although the rest of the team had already caught the ferry to the next town, he had come by to talk to Mrs. Mason and reason with her to let Lavender attend the competition. Mom instantly became combative, and
while Woody tried to maintain his composure, it became more and more apparent to him this was no place for a young girl to live.
He put the question to Lavender. Would she want to go with him to the competition?
Trapped between duty and desire, Lavender looked from one adult to the other. If she left, she would be a horrible ungrateful child, abandoning her poor lonely mother. But she wanted this so badly.....
She could still hear her mother's ranting in her ears as she sat on the boat next to coach Woody. In the midst of a deep, emotional conversation about her future, there was a lurch.
The boat had run aground of a strange island, and there was nothing but water and waves the next moment. Lavender managed to make it to shore, but coach Woody was nowhere to be found.
She had to find him.
Trivia:
Frightened of older women, as they remind her of her mother.

Good lord is she anime.
Emotionally attached to her Hello Skitty iPod.
Loves rainbows, kittens, puppies, Scooby-Doo, Lite-Brites, band-aids with cartoon characters on them and pop music.
Shamelessly loves boy bands. Shamelessly. She will try to get you to listen to the latest synthetic four piece male band with matching haircuts and she is RELENTLESS.
Lavender wears her roller skates everywhere! Everywhere she can get away with them, that is. Unless she’s got wheels or skates on, nothing feels right. How can people stand to go so SLOW?
Last name comes from Dr. Paul T. Mason.
