Description

Calzone had closed up the pizza store for the evening before diligently sweeping up the store, arranging the chairs, emptying the trash, and doing as many chores as his back could handle. He winced as he stood up and began shuffling over to the unlit oven, where he had stowed the egg to keep it warm. His daughter probably would have scolded him for keeping the egg in there but it was the warmest place in the store and it wasn't like enough people had come in the last few hours to light the oven.
There was a lot to worry about, from his back to the lack of money in the register, and most of all, how he would he be able to raise a child while maintaining a dying pizzaria? And at his age too....

But babies don't wait for the right moment. There was the telltale sound of eggshell cracking in the air....
