Another one of the sacred flowers,this one a close relative of the Starlight Lily. It has similar features and care requirements as it’s relation,the only difference being this flower is even more difficult to grow,as it often grows near lava fields and steam vents.
Species: Lillium Volcanica
Common name: Torch lily,Sunset lily,Volcano lily
Symbolism: often given as a sign of true love towards another individual. Sometimes it is given to symbolically burn relationships with those you have cut ties with.
Species status: very common,not to mention hard to collect where native,this flower is only gathered occasionally

Care: This species is distinguished by its flowers having a distinctive glow to the petals in sunset colors,giving it the common name Sunset lily. It often glows brightly right before sunset,and is hardy against high heat. This species is difficult to grow,as it prefers high heat and lower light than expected for a lily. It is also susceptible to rot and needs an ash based soil,with high acidity. This,along with its tendency towards deficiency of nutrients(mostly iron and magnesium)makes this flower almost impossible to grow commercially. Luckily,it is common,unlike its cousin,the Starlight lily.
Habitat: Often found growing on lava plains and near steam vents and hydrothermal lakes. Often grows where ash is deposited into the soil
Pollination: very difficult,as it is often pollinated by fire Keese and Flame moths
Hybrids: Readily hybridized with most Lillies,it often also hybrids well with Flame Hibiscus and its relatives. This must be done with care if using other species,so as to not lose the glowing trait. Hybrids are a likely way to make them more amiable to more…common conditions that most gardeners can handle.
Notes: Possibly related to the Starlight lily,that also haas glowing petals,the Starlight lily is more cool colored,and has white speckling,unlike the Sunset lilies that have no speckles.I have had luck growing it in the Sanctuary by hybridizing it with an odd choice;the Lily of the Moon,another sacred flower. It seems to be somewhat smaller,but grows without so much heat and fire.
