Description
Derek may not show a lot of different emotions but the truth is that he has plenty off them. Unfortunately mostly of them are negative.
When Kayleen comes into his life his emotions are turned upside down. The lies he has been telling himself as a defence gets contradicted and he feels like a monster, and then turning himself into one.
When Kayleen calls him out about it in a large fight, he decides to try to repent and deal with his past, as a gesture towards her. He gets his chance when Marisol, an important woman from his past, turns up.
But fate has never been on his side so when he tries to sort things out with Marisol, it starts a big chain of lies and deception which leads to Kayleen fearing for her life and leaving him as a result. Mad and desperate beyond words over her leaving him for no apparent reason (for him), he comes to terms with his own true emotions.

And after that shit breaks loose, peoples true colours are revealed and they get either abused, shot or hanged It's not easy to care for someone during the brutality of the old west
Happiness will come though! Or I hope so! hehehe

Technical:
It started out as an easy sketch of Derek and Kayleens faces (as always lol) and a cylinder that was supposed to be a gun. Then I was inking it and told myself "For the love of god, no more effin faces!". So I drew their bodies as well and altered their positions xD
Then came the colouring. Which style? I didn't want to put to much time on it, but I didn't want to use cellshading either or use minimal shading... So I cursed at myself and kicked my butt in to submission and made the thing in a more paint-y fashion. Most effort was put into their skin, and Kayleen's hair xD
In the redesign of Derek I made his nose more pointy, but didn't like it in the end so in this drawing I gave him his old and very straight nose. He's not supposed to be mr MacDreamyFaceDesu.

And I can't thank enough for her encouragement and pin points. If she didn't had kept my spirit up and pointed things out, this would look hell of a lot worse and with far greater mistakes! xD
