Personally, I would've chosen either the solid black underneath the plate, or all table. Maybe a light blue would've worked here also.

Rice isn't very common in the US, right? I don't see people there preparing it often. Over here it is not only common, but a necessity!

I think it depends on the family. We eat rice pretty frequently here, and I think it is generally pretty main stream, but certainly not for each meal!
