Fantastic work, my friend! I wonder, how do you go about choosing a photo to work on? Looking at the the original stock image, I feel nothing. It's very doll-like and lifeless yet the result is stunning. Do you have an idea and choose a photo to fit that or the other way around? I've been thinking about this regarding my own work lately.

Thanks Timo! The search usually starts with an idea in which I look for a certain angle, facial expression or body parts being in focus. The expression wasn't important here, because it tells me nothing either (an unusually blank face!). The slightly opened mouth has more expression on its own, and the facial area and angle to use as a workspace was more relevant

I find it more exciting to have an idea first and find a solution to it, rather than finding the solution first and then try work around it!

Thanks for sharing! I have no set way yet for choosing what photos to manipulate. I've approached them from both angles. It's kinda fun to just look at a photo and try to see how it would like to be altered. This approach works well with the geometric abstract types. The few portrait ones I have coming up are the other way around. Idea first, then photo, then the manipulation. I eagerly wait to see what you come up with next!
