Description Lily spends a lot of her time swimming, but in order to spend time with non-aquatic friends, she uses a wheelchair to get around on land. Since she's a dolphin mermaid, breathing air is no problem, though she has to wear light clothes to prevent overheating. When in public, Lily prefers to wheel herself around, but if a friend she trusts offers, she will happily accept.Β

Not really much to say here. I just wanted to draw Lily in a wheelchair and a big hat. I know mermaids in wheelchairs isn't an original idea, but it's pretty much the best way for a character without legs to be mobile on land. No background, since it's just a quick picture. enjoy!

I do like your delphinoid mermaids.

Delphinoid mermaids are really hard to find.Β  Maybe their artists could be induced to tag them as such? (#dolphin , #merdolphin , etc.)

Maybe you can make a DA group and find artists who've drawn such mermaids and invite them to submit their pictures to it? That, or just request that people tag them as such

This is very nicely done. It reminds me very much of a character named Iantha Delphouros (Violet Porpoisetail) in the story Nothing in the Rules by L. Sprague de Camp, about a Greek mermaid who competes in a college swimming competition. The dialog in the story is hilarious.
It's my belief that, contrary to popular notions, mermaids must really be dolphin or porpoise based.

With a tale that long and elegant, she's gonna need a longer wheelchair (One designed for holding tails, and some water in case she needs it).

That would look pretty funny, her rolling around with two wheelchairs XD

Thanks! Glad you liked it. Since I don't really have a story for these characters, I just throw in little tidbits of their personality and such just for fun.

Everytime I see a mermaid in a wheelchair I think of Munch from Oddworld.
