Guenhwyvar (sp?) and Drizzt from the Legend of Drizzt series (or, The Forgotten Realms) by R. A. Salvatore. Since Mr. Salvatore frequently mentions Guen's weight as being 600 pounds (usually landing on something or someone) I decided this time she/he/it would land on Drizzt- CUZ GUEN LOVES HIM SYUUUU MUCHlolz I just saw the HP7 trailer and I'm hyper, sorry
for my summer art challenge, no. 1 chibi style! featuring Drizzt
EDIT: previously titled '300 bounds of love' i changed the title because I read vol. 11 of the Legend of Drizzt and realized it was actually 600 pounds >.> i'm not a panther expert, but isn't that a little too big?

but in the first few books I'm sure Guen was either an 'it' or a 'he' because I was really deeply under the impression Guen was a boy until the third or fourth book when they said 'she' and I got really confuuuuuused *whine*

same here. I did not noticed that Guen was a she until like the 8-9 of the series as I have sworn they have he written down in the first few. But I love this picture and your job on it. definitely soo adorable!

Originally the editors did not allow Guen to have a gender, I'm not sure how Salvatore managed to change their minds, but he has said Guen was always female.

I'm glad he changed their minds. Though it would have been nice if he could have done that earlier in the series instead of later. That gave me a massive amount of confusion lol.

well Guenhwyvar is an astral being not of the Prime Material Plane, so she could very well be 600-lb.

Hercules is completely healthy and is expected to live a long life. The cat's breeding is said to have been a complete accident. Sinbad, another liger, was shown on the National Geographic Channel. Sinbad was reported to have the exact weight of Hercules. Hercules and Sinbad belong to the T.I.G.E.R.S. family of animal ambassadors, who present the "Tale of the Tiger" show on Jungle Island every day.

For a normal panter yes it is. But Salvator writes in Siege of Darkness that she's twice the size of a normal panther. Great job btw very cute!

Yes, Salvatore often describes her as a 600 pound cat. And i also read that she's twice the size of a normal panther, which made me wonder why Lockwood always painted a normal sized panther(?)
