And they say religious people are shoving down opinions on atheist's throats.. smh.. I don't care if your beliefs differ from mine, and I'm not generalizing atheists here, but can't we just live in peace without hating eachother so much? ;.;Β

Huh? Your comment confuses me. Are you saying you say, "this is why we look bad" to your fellow Christian, or are you saying "yes, you guys do look pretty idiotic because of things like this".

Ah, yes and no. I'm saying a little snippet of bothΒ "this is why we look bad" andΒ Β "yes, you guys do look pretty idiotic because of things like this"; but not totally.Β I actually meant to agree that this guy does make atheists look bad. As your initial comment says (which I concur with.) I also threw in that the same goes to fellow christians who do the same thing as the OP is doing.Β
In a brief summary, I think give atheists a bitter title as well as how insane christians make me and other christians look bad. Both are petals to the same flower; peas to the same pod even despite their opposing beliefs. I wouldn't say that this guy makes you, the atheist community in a whole, look idiotic because I know not all atheists act like this; but nevertheless this does set an example of ''you're doing it wrong'', and what a bad apple looks like. I could have been clearer though ^^' Apology for the mix-up.

Oh, no problem, then. Yeah, I will admit that the atheist community seems to contain a lot of people who are extremely dogmatic, but those who just don't believe but aren't militant, like our stamp maker here, are mixed up with the more pretentious crowd. Honestly, that's why I don't even identify myself as atheist anymore; Just a non believer. Even if we have a different belief system, labels should not change who you are to someone else; I can wholeheartedly agree with you in that regard.
I just don't understand why most of us tend to act as if we are on a higher plane of knowledge yet do dumb shit like this, like how some Christians do the same with their God (no offense to you yourself, of course). Kind of saddening, really.

I agree full heartedly. No one should look down on/be intolerant on others for solely the difference in belief systems. That's called bigotry.
Yep. I met basically all bad apples from almost every group that I now try to avoid. I know a christian who rabidly attacks and spams everyone. Quite literally trying to force them to believe and tends to condemn 'sinners'; which I despise more than these so quote "sinners'" actions. Instead of being well rounded, acknowledging, and logical they plug up their ears and say "loltroll i am holier and you going to hell!" Which is ironic because in a scripture found in proverbs, I recall seeing it actually ENCOURAGING questioning, taking wisdom, and talks negatively about fools. I have to check back later to confirm the part about encouraging skeptic thinking; but I know for a fact it speaks illy about fools and encourages wisdom.
Then there is a dude who views himself as a god and x, especially christians, are either hateful, evil, a rip off, and an inferior. He spam block attacks basically all people who reply with opposing ideas and label them names like psychopath, bigot, sexist, aholes, (ect). Then gets butthurt after someone blocks him with a taste of his own medicine.~
Then there are atheists like these who think they are superior than religious folks even when they whine about THEM acting superior. They ignore good apples and act as if all christians are stupid, ignorant, and oppose science. Despite there being christian scientists and inventors. They think atheism = science + knowledge.
The list goes on. Even when theae people are existent, I will not shame and generalize all non believers or believers. You seem awesome even though you are a non believer!
Ah, no offense taken. You speak the truth so I do not see why I should take offense !

The reason why people decided to obey religion because of the afterlife. if people abandoned their religions, not also they will go to hell but they will face internal darkness with fear and sob. nobody know what is the afterlife because when people die they never come back to tell the tale. so therefore, they decided to stay with religion and obey god and holy bible.

I understand if you don't believe in a god, (I don't either, I'm Athiest as well) but saying that religious people are "stupid" or "barbaric" is just wrong. Some people cling to religion because it's what makes them feel safe- and that's fine, but us Atheists should respect people, religious or not.

I recently took a trip to France. While there are many religious people there, people keep their religion in the church, and don't talk much about it anywhere else. They see no reason to get all worked up about every little thing that goes against the bible, and keep their religion to themselves. You can find condom dispensers in many schools and most stations of the Paris Metro. If those were in America, imagine the uproar.
I wish religious people in North America would stop rallying for creationism to be taught in schools, and stop publicly opposing birth control and premarital sex. I wish they would keep their religion to themselves and not bother anyone else with it, like religious people in France.

To me, religion isn't the problem, its humanity.
Humans created the concept known as religion, thus human beings are the problem, not religion.
Blame the creators, not the product.

I think being ignorant and non-accepting of one's belief, non belief, or skeptic views of religion makes you blind.

I think it's against the law in the US to pray in school anyway, i hate when people talk about religion in school.
I certainly am willing to put up with religion, but it's a pain sometimes. I also hate seeing when children believe in what their parents believe in because religion is apperently needed to raise your children properly. The stuff is everywhere, i wish people would let their children choose if they want to believe in their parents religion or not when they know what they don't want, maybe it would get some of them thinking a little more (seriously, kids need to think more. I'm in a class full of idiots.).
That's why i turned down getting confirmed, the funny thing about it is that my dad didn't force me, he was disappointed, but he didn't force me. And i thought he would've.

It's against law? I wish it was like this, here, in Poland... But then a majority of people here (do you know something about Catholicism in Poland or do I have to explain you?) would make a rant bigger than war. Worse, it'd be a pandemonium.
Yes, kids should think more, because parents think for them. My every class was full of idiots, I was one of these rare people who weren't just black mass. And yes, everyone should be able to make a choice when she/he's mature, because for now religion is being shoved up peoples throats. It sucks.
