Okay so since this is fanart, I can't give kudos to you on this badass design, but you illustrated it well! The anatomy looks spot on and I just love his dynamic pose. Your background is freaking sweet and I love the broken ERROR messages. Seeing Nero's reflection in the vat and the distortion of the perspective and anatomy in the liquid is such a great touch. There are a lot of fantastic details like that in this piece. The lighting is superb and the glow from his jacket is rather beautiful. I like that his eye is red as it makes it stand out.
I would've liked to see some liquid leaking out of the vats in the cracks, and have it dripping down the sides, which leads to the puddles on the floor. Especially the broken one in the back -- it seems like liquid should be dripping down it since it's just recently shattered. I also think the clothes could be textured, as right now it doesn't have a discernible fabric. Is it supposed to be rubber? Latex? Cotton? I have no idea.
I think that this piece could've benefited from a different color. There are too many cool blues and greens in this piece, so nothing really stands out aside from his eye. Maybe making the vats orange or another warmer color to counterbalance all of that blue could've made the piece more visually interesting overall. Also there could've been a little extra detail to the broken glass to make it look sharper, as right now, the broken container in the background looks more like plastic and less like glass. The holes in the other two containers look freaking awesome, though.
Again I gotta say that your lighting is just great -- it looks awesome! The great pose and little details really caught my eye. Fantastic work!

Thank you for your detailed (extra) comment!
I had no idea of the color scheme of this piece until the very end, and it shows. The vat changed color many times, and I still wasn't satisfied with them but I didn't know what to do more. I started another drawing and the color scheme is already mostly defined. That's what I learned from this piece. Plan the colors before, it will save you time.
His clothes are leather? I actually don't know. On the in game model it could be basically anything, on the high res render it looks like leather. Also noted for next picture. I will work on the details more.

This piece is really awesome to look at. It elicits a feeling of urgency while at the same time setting a really cool looking scene. I'm getting a threatening anti-hero vibe from the guy in this picture, kind of like the protagonist of the darkness games, especially with the two robotic arms. Lots of dark colors and light blues give a kind of 90's sci-fi vibe to it, and it's awesome for it.The lighting is really good, and since the light is coming from the background behind the glass canisters, everything in the foreground has this eerie glow to it. The guns look a little big for the character though, though that may just be my perception. I can't really tell where to two robotic arms are coming from, but they look awesome in the scene, also, I can't see a shadow underneath the character, but because of the lighting behind him, it doesn't stand out at all.. The only other thing that looks weird to me is the liquid in the canisters, it looks like gel rather than liquid. All in all, it looks really good with the lighting being the best part since its coming from the background to the foreground.

Thanks for your comment! Is it from ProjectComment? I think you need to mention them if you want the comment to count, but I'm not sure.
The background was a bit of a last minute addition since I never plan them out to begin with (bad habit I know). I had already settled on the backlighting and needed to make it work. I have no idea what the liquid is in those canisters, I googled something along the lines of ''sci-fi lab'' or ''evil lab'' and got inspired.
The mechanical arms are attached to his back, how do they work isn't even exactly explained in-game, and his hair is always covering where they connect with his back so... Guns might be a bit big, but this is a Final Fantasy, so it's either ridiculous guns or swords. He also has four guns, to take the ridiculousness to another level, but I settled for two. That was enough.

Sorry! My first time using projectcomment. Also, I haven't played dirge of cerberus, so I'm not really familiar with the character.

Thanks for the watch! Just don't expect me to stick to a fandom. I draw random stuff all the time!

This is on behalf of so here we go.
First thing is first, I loved Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus. Vincent Valentine always interested me as a tragic anti-hero, actually no he was just a tragic hero. Sure he only helped out when things were going to hell but then that's when you need heroes anyway so there we go, but enough about Vincent as he is not the focus of this piece but rather the very scary and deeply disturbing Nero the Sable. This character was one of the darker villains of an already dark group of psychopaths deemed too extreme by Shinra...guys who would kill millions of innocent people if it meant taking out a bunch of rebels.
But onto this character and how he is depicted. One of the best elements of FFVII was how they combined technology and magic almost seamlessly and this guy seems to embody that fusion in a dark and badass way. We seem to have Nero at the end here, for those who haven't played the game I won't spoil it, and he's in a state of desperation so all bets are off. His straitjacket is off, his guns are primed and his mechanical arms are ready this looks like it's gonna be one hell of a fight. The background works very well, as if taken straight out of the game and has that dark lab setting where he made his final stand. The shadow effects are beautiful and with a character like Nero almost crucial, this guy likes it in the shade.
So overall, excellent work, a scene almost lifted right from the game and done so marvellously. Good show.

Thank you for your comment!
Vincent already has tons of fanart about him, I like picking up random characters that are not well known. I haven't played DoC in years, I actually don't even know why I randomly thought: I'm going to spend the next ten hours drawing Nero. In a pose that is humanely impossible. Β

I'm in the process of another artwork with a character nobody really cares about that will end up too complicated again Β

Is it my impression, or the second to last line of the screen says "terror"? 'cause it would be a great easter-egg

Thanks! I did play Dirge of Cerberus, but that was years ago. I think I have an emulated version saved somewhere on my computer, should replay it one day.
