Yes, I used to ride all the time when I was younger. I took lessons for 4-5 years and worked at a stable every weekend when I was a teenager. I haven't really been able to ride much since I was 17 unfortunately. Mostly once or twice a year until I had my daughter 2 years ago. I miss it terribly.

They help so many people. I think I was 10 when I first started riding. It definitely helped me through my teenage years. I think I would have got in more trouble if I hadn't been for the horses. I had to stop because the stable I went to closed...their government leased land could be renewed and the place I went next was well over 1.5 hours away and I got mono and the Dr. said I couldn't ride for 3-4 months. It turned out to be too far of a drive for my parents to take me to especially with 5 kids needing to be taken everywhere and I didn't have a car. Then I finished school got a job that kept me too busy, got married and moved out of the country then had a baby.
I do plan and trying to take it back up eventually. I used to do barrel racing and loved it. Pretty sure that isn't in the plans anymore. My 30 turning 50 year old bones couldn't take it. LOL I hope she likes riding and I will definitely go trail riding around here. Lots of pretty places to go here.
That is very awesome about getting your book published. I hope it does really well! I was looking at your art on here and you are very good. You have the form of a horse down pat I would say!

Oh I see, well even inspite of the fact that you loved riding horses, it does sound like life turned out to be rather nice for you, though. With a child and a husband, as well as moving out of the country. I would love to travel someday. ^^
I truly hope you are able to get back into riding again.
Wow, you used to barrel race? That's amazing! ^^ I've wanted to get my horse into pole-bending, but basically he is just a pleasure horse for me, which is awesome all the same.
I'm sure your daughter will love to ride horses. For some reason there is just something special about being around and riding them, they bring such a sense of calm, it's unreal. So I have a very strong feeling that if you tell her how much you loved riding, that she will love it just as equally.
And thank you so much, writing has been a passion of mine for quite sometime now. It helped me through a very rough time in my life many years ago. Between my horse and writing stories about him, it truly was my saving grace back then, and still is to this day if you want to know the truth.
It sure has been nice getting to talk with you. You seem like a very kind person. It's always so nice to meet new people who share the same interest, such as you and me with horses.

I'm very glad you know. Some people don't know how truly lucky they are.
I say "I love horses!"
And people tell me "Then get one." or "Why don't you have one?" or even expect thatI hate one and ask "How many do you have? What's your horse's name?"
It hurts. I tell the truth and say "I can't afford it. I'd do anything for one though."
People just don't understand that not everyone has the money.
Horses are the only thing that make me truly happy. It sucks I go through hard times and can't be with them T__T

Yeah, I struggle a lot at times with money myself, and one might think that I have a lot seeing as I own a horse, but that is very far from the truth. I can't even begin to tell you just how many years I have had to go without things that I myself need and sometimes want, just because I have to always save money for horse feed, yearly vet fees, farrier, monthly board, etc. But he is completely worth it because like I said, he saved my life. I owe him that much when it comes to proper care.
I'm sure one day you will have the chance to get a horse too. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't. I never in my wildest imagination ever thought that I would be living out a dream of owning my own horse, I just hate that it took my grandfather passing away to make that dream happen. But somehow I know my grandfather would be happy that I ended up with the horse that I did.
