Yay! A submission! But this is gonna go into scraps later
. I'm a huge fan of Calvin and Hobbes (YAY FOR CALVIN & HOBBES), so I decided to do fanart of them older! [STORY TIME!]
Once upon a time, Calvin and Susie (I haven't forgottn Susie!) are, say, 13 or 14, they go to the same middle school together.
Calvin, about a year or two earlier, had an incident and blamed Hobbes (the tiger) for it. So his parents became consumed by rage and thus destroyed Hobbes (I'm so evil
*bangs head on keyboard*). The destruction of our dear Hobbes induced Calvin to become a schizo (a slur, I think, for someone who has schizophrenia). That's where the Hobbes I drew comes in.The Hobbes I drew is Calvin's other personality (since schizophrenia does that to you ya know). He's a real badass, and really quiet, a night person; only comes out when Calvin is mad, sad, or even bored...
Hobbes keeps on getting these body piercings like on his ears and his eyebrows(he probably stole the $ to get the piercings), so Calvin ends up confused (naturally) and he gets in trouble by his parents.
Susie is still a sweet person (well, when Calvin pisses her off, imagine her a Susified Inner-Sakura), and she's nerdy in a way (hecksa smart, reads A LOT, and sits by herself). But she's still Susie, so it ain't matterin' to me!

I drew this during school yesterday, so it's a recent sketch (YAY! Finally a recent drawing!). I know, I know. Hobbes is WAY outta proportion, but if I draw him again, I'll make him PERFECT! (Hopefully...)

I like how you drew Calvin with shorts on. To me he doesn't seem like the teenager to wear those kinds of shorts, but more skinny jeans. But in one of the comics Hobbes asks him why he doesn't wear shorts in the winter. But Calvin says he does but they're just too long.

Maybe destroying Hobbes made him take on Hobbes' characteristics and he only returns to his former evil glory under stress, at which times he uses the Tiger's name in his honor? Hmmm...
I'm overthinking this.

I always find it weird when multiple personalities somehow makes a person's clothes change spontaneously.

Fun idea. I kind of like when someone puts a dark twist on something from my childhood.
My only real problem is that Schizophrenia isn't the same as having a split personality/multiple personalities. It's more like your mind makes a bunch of illusions and you can't perceive the difference between them and the real world.
Other than that little error in the description I really like this!

This is awesome! It's an excellent idea, one that someone should go through with. I love how you 'killed' Hobbes and had Calvin become a Schizo because of it. It really portrays the depth of their relationship. Hobbes wasn't just a stuffed tiger, he was Calvin's best friend, so the fact that he develops another half and dubs him 'Hobbes' in fear of what the tiger did reveals a deep wound of betrayal. I'm fascinated by the scene in the bottom left, where Susie meets 'Hobbes.' I want to know what happens! Anyway, good work with this!

Wow, why is this in scraps?? This is actually a very interesting concept to take up. Pity Hobbes is dead, but it's nice to know he survived in some small way as the voice in Calvin's head.

Actually, schizophrenia DOES NOT give you multiple personalities. What he seems to have is Dissociative Identity Disorder. I just learned about that in Psychology.

Schizophrenia is mainly under the category of "hearing voices". The sufferer's personality is always dominant, put they hear persuasive voices, usually giving distructive orders. I think. We only recently started on mental disorders in class.
