Ahmes had quite a large difference in time between when he arrived in Sybal Heim and the time period he originated in and so it was a huge culture shock. Due to this for the first while he was confused and scared about this strange place away from everyone he knew. The fear then changed slowly to distrust and then to dislike and finally a slow simmering hatred for taking him away from everything he knew.

Occupation:
As he has lived within the city a good while Ahmes has had the chance to try out many occupations, enough to provide him with wealth enough to afford heavy thick gold jewellery. Currently he is working on his own project, touring all the districts as a scholar attempting to record people's memories of animals. On the side he owns an inn which provides disposable income to allow him to travel freely. He has hired employees to run the place and carry out the majority of the work but he still pops in there most evenings as he finds it a good place to listen in on people.

Sybal Form:
Nub Msdr ( Gold Ear ):
Ahmes's sybal form is very heavily influenced by his religious beliefs. His form bears a strong resemblance to the God Anubis as Anubis is one of the main gods he worships, despite Anubis playing a more minor role in the Ptolemaic period comparative to IRO 1000BC.

On his face, Ahmes's has an extra eye and oversized ears due to the fact that these are what he does best and focuses on most. Observation and listening. These features are further highlighted by the golden lining around them.The volume of gold present on Ahmes is due to his aspirations of grandeur, ie his secret and at the same time not so secret longing to be a pharaoh. Being quite vain he matches his clothes generally with the colours on his sybal form.

Ahmes's limbs, head and tail all 'float' independently around the central orb. This glass orb filled with water and an Egyptian lotus is the weakest point for Ahmes. It represents his past with his family - the flower he used to find to offer up the gods to look out for his family in the afterlife, but also indicates despite his harsh exterior he is quite gentle at the core. Not that it's been done as of yet, but the more damage the sphere takes, the weaker Ahmes becomes. If it were destroyed and the lotus removed or damaged that would be lethal.

As all the limbs float and are not fixed in position by the torso, provided that the sphere remains in the middle of his body Ahmes can shift from standing on four legs to two and even take himself around to read his tail.
His front legs in actual fact do not end in paws but in fingers. This dexterity in this form is due to Ahmes's scholarly nature. He would feel restricted if he was unable to hold a pen. The mainly canine body is very agile and fast. While in sybal form, running is one of his favourite thing to do. This running comes from both the canine form but also from Ahmes's absolute adoration of and fascination with the horses gifted to/owned by the pharaohs and extremely wealthy.

His tail is a long roll of papyrus which plays the main part in his power. Due to this he keeps his tail rolled up the majority of the time. He has a collection of ribbons for the task of tying the scroll shut which he needs to do first thing on changing to sybal form. The scroll comes from his scholarly nature and his life as a scribe and child of a scribe in Egypt as well as his worship of Thoth( though that could be thought of as circumstantial to living in a household of scribes.

Ahmes's power does what it says on the tin. This is where his gold lined ears come into play. Whenever Ahmes hears an untruth it records itself in his handwriting on Ahmes's scroll like tail. The more lies he is in the presence of, the larger his tail grows. However at the end of every night, when he returns to human form, it is cleared so he starts with a blank canvas every night.
If he wants to check for lies it must be when he is in Sybal form and on the same night the lie is spoken. However unless Ahmes is looking at the scroll, he has no idea if what has been said is a lie or not. And often, especially in crowded areas the papyrus expands rapidly as all lies are picked up, even white lies.

When he first started out Ahmes would wear his tail open and would read the scroll, but as time went on he learned sometimes it's better not to know if you're being lied to, and others reading it could be unsettled/ made angry by the content if they cottoned on. It's not a particularly useful tool offensively but could potentially be put well to use for the insurgents cause. He often uses his tail to check up on trade deals for his inn, or to look over a conversation with someone. However as any time Ahmes is even briefly in public, the scroll fills up quickly so it is often hard to find the lies from a particular conversation. For this power to work Ahmes must either hear the lie in action.

Docile: He is pretty much the same in Sybal form as usual. However he tends to be slightly less vocal and more judgemental.

Being more of a listener than a talker, Ahmes likes to hear others stories and is not opposed to the art of eavesdropping. He is firm in his belief that if you want something kept out of public knowledge, you say it privately or else anything is fair game.He is however highly judgemental and looks down on those who either don't have goals or aren't willing to be motivated to search for a goal.
When meeting people, he is very capable of communicating. While he does prefer to be the listener, when he puts in the effort he is equally capable at taking an active role in a conversation or situation. Especially if it's to get something he wants. He also very much likes being in control of a situation etc, hence why he started up a business.

His father started a tradition with the boy to find a lotus and take it as an offering to the gods to keep his mother safe in the afterlife and every time they did, his father would tell stories of her so the lotus to him is precious.
But this did not mean Ahmes had a bad childhood. Quite the contrary, he and his father lived with his fathers' sister's family and he and his cousins would have a riot when not busy/working.

He was well educated and literate as his father worked as a scribe, and expected him to take up a career that followed his fathers footsteps. In the end Ahmes did follow his father, but ever since he was around the age of six and had seen horses being paraded through the streets to be gifted to some rich family, he had become fascinated and would often sneak in to the stables to see the creatures or at least he attempted to. He has nearly been caught many a time and obtained many bruises from his escapades.

When he spotted the forest that lead to Sybal Heim, Ahmes had gone for the very first time alone to visit the shrine of Osiris to pray for his mother, his father having decided it was time to stop visiting, especially as he was getting on in years and also had a new wife and more children around the age of ten. Being the curious soul he was, and never having heard the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat', Ahmes, on his way back from the temple and at his favourite detour spot- stables- had been contemplating existence had his mother not died, noticed a patch of forest which he was pretty sure hadn't existed before and decided to investigate and so entered Sybal Heim.

On his arrival, to say Ahmes was confused and panicking would be a gross understatement. He of course chose to settle in the district most close to home as he could find and has stayed there pretty consistently his whole 400 odd years in the city. However even the supposedly familiar district of Seele was hugely different as not only was it compromised of all African cultures and Australian, but also the economy and architecture overall way of life was hugely different as when he entered Sybal Heim it was over a thousand years ahead of his time.

While he may not have liked Sybal Heim for what it did to him, Ahmes was not one to shirk from making the best of a bad situation and since he seemed to be stuck here - his constant escape attempts fruitless and exhausting - he began looking for work.
When he started off, to maintain some semblance of normalcy and to provide himself with some income, Ahmes started working as a scribe. The process was familiar enough that he could make a living off it.

Over time he changed occupations many times as and when he became bored with the last, from learning how to work metal to cooking. He even broadened his mind enough to go learn from people in other districts. Eventually Ahmes had amassed enough wealth to open up his inn which he named 'The Golden Lotus'. Initially he was working in the inn all the time, running it nearly single handed but for a few people he hired to wait tables or play music. However as business boomed, he became wealthy enough to take a more backseat position in the running of the place, hiring general staff as well as chefs and entertainers from all around.

This gave him the freedom to take up his passion recording people's memories of various animals which he started one evening in his inn as he chatted to a regular customer and griping about things lost. Ahmes has been making the record of animals for the past 50 years or so, which has allowed him to come into contact with many people, leading him to find the insurgents at the age of 443. Up until this point Ahmes had only heard rumours about this group whispered here and there.

Having found the insurgency only late on he is planning on working to make himself indispensable to the group in any way he can. He of course being the ambitious would he is plans to climb the ranks but for now has to settle on being a relative nobody.
