Description Hopefully it gives you all a good idea of how I go about painting photorealistically.

This is, very basically, how I did it:

1. I used a 4000 px canvas, did a rough sketch.
2. Used the polygonal lasso tool to outline/fill the sketch with a different colour to the background (a dark colour)
3. Roughly sketched in the shadows with an almost-black colour.
4. Painted in the eyes and reflective bits
5. Roughly painted the nose and tongue. Then started on the fur.
6. I painted the fur with a hard round brush, with shape dynamics and opacity/transfer selected. The brush size was always between 10 and 18 pixels. The opacity and flow of the brush was always around 30-50%.
7. I built up several layers of fur, usually starting from darkest and working to lightest.
8. Added the little bits of the image that make it what it is - the hair/piercings etc.
9. Although it doesn't show it here, I also airbrushed in a background.

Then it was done I know I can't explain it very well, but if you are trying to do this kind of art and have any questions to help you along, I'm happy to answer. I can also give critique if needed.
