Description Just a quick tutorial I made after posting pictures of this [link] shirt. I thought it would be nice to share. I hope it's easy enough to understand.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! I'll be posting another one for non-stencil as well if I can find time

A great tip from ~tamisise is to make your design in parts, that way you don't end up cutting everything. She made this awesome shirt!

It was a birthday present. But you can get it at places like Hobby Lobby or Joann's. Amazon has one on sale with free shipping right now [link]

What kind of paint did you use? Does it necessarily have to be a fabric paint? or acrylic would do?

/sorry for the flood of question...I'm just really curious.

I used fabric paint, I think tulip is the brand, for this project because I like that fabric paints stay a bit more flexible. Acrylic paint will work fine but it will be stiffer. If you're painting jeans or a bag stiffness wouldn't really matter.

Some hobby/craft stores sell this stuff called 'fabric medium' that you can add to acrylic paint to make it softer and more flexible. Try out just regular acrylics and see if you like them, if you don't then you can invest in something else.

Thanks!

I'm gonna buy acrylic soon but I'm having second thoughts on purchasing the painting medium.

Definitely just try it with the acrylics, paint something small, and see if it's okay. Don't buy anything you don't need

Oh~ I've always wanted to make my own shirts, and some to give away. (I still have some printing paper I bought for clothing. 8|) This looks really great for being so simple! Ever think of opening an etsy shop to sell some stuff you design? That'd be fun.

I'll have to try this out once I can get around to buying more art supplies.

I used to do the iron-on transfer thing when I was in high school, they were a lot easier but didn't last very long I had an etsy shop for a little while, I'm just horrible at selling myself. I want to try and make some more things for it. I just don't have any ideas :/ Shirts do sound like a good plan though

Yes try it! You can get the $1 bottle of acrylic paints (the craft ones) they don't have to be nice expensive ones. Old clothing or bags would be fun to practice on too.
