Very nice painting. Love the free flowing brush work!! As Akifan stated, your emphisis is on color and depth. You have a greyness in the background which makes your forground images pop out, very well done. The grey in the forfront of the painting also helps to draw the eye back up to teh main focal point...teh fruit and vases. Very nice work!!! Keep em' comming.

I opened this for full view and it's very appealing and beautiful indeed...looks like an awesome impressionism piece, a style not similar but somewhat that reminds me that of VanGogh, where not really too much attention was paid to accurate and fine lines, but emphasis to the impact and depth of color, I liked the way you played with reflections along the different surfaces, except I think you missed only one, the reflection of the right onion or pumpkin (right below the green bottle) the blue jar on the right should have a stronger 'orange' colored reflection of that onion or pumpkin...I don't want to sound picky with a small detail like that, but it was just a small suggestion since you actually took the time to work on the glossy finish of the 3 blue jars, and all of the other objects in the front are reflected perfectly!! ...I see there's a small green reflection with a resemblance to the shape of that onion/pumpkin on the jar, but it looks like it might belong to the green bottle behind...Great work nevertheless...I've never tried gouache, but i'm sure my first drawing ever with that media would be far far away from your skill level!!!

wow.. gorgeous brushwork on this, so free and plentiful, a style I've never been able to get to grips with. It has a lovely light quality, especially in the highlights on the glassware. Your use of colour is quite knowledgable. the use of the green in the shadows of the oranges is a really nice touch, a lovely piece overall. Even if your teacher does want you to try potraits, you certainly have a gift for still life.

Wow!

This is a "serious" still-life.

It's so loose with the brush but also so exact. The colours are great, deep and rich with wonderful contrast of red-green and blue-orange. The reflections in the pots are great.

Star plus definitely.

Damn. Everytime I go and say 'I hate still life,' someone has to go and paint a brilliant still life. You did such a great job on this! The style of brushstrokes you used is what catches my eye most; everything looks like color patches, until you get to the glassware, which looks appropriately smooth and shiny. I think that's pretty cool that you varied parts of the image that way. You used a really great range of colors; nothing looks flat, even the background has bits of red reflected from the drape. I think your teacher is right, you're definitely ready to move on Great work.
