There have been a hellova lot of good crossover opportunities in the first few episodes of season 5 of Merlin - this was one moment in the first episode - anyone else spot it? Merlin and Arthur were hiding under a 'shelf' created by the roots of a tree and I was like "Oh come on.. that's just asking for a Lord of the Rings crossover!" And i think Gwaine and Merlin did it again this week.. oh boys..

Hahaha, good point... I got rid of the snow so that it'd match the snow-less LOTR scene but completely forgot that sleighs need snow to run.

I've always noticed the similarities between Merlin and LOTR and this just made me laugh so hard because that pretty much sums everythingn up.

You should do Arthur dropping into Old Merlin's house in S4E3, with Merlin jabbering on about him coming in 30 minutes just like in The Sword in the Stone x3

I'm not the only person who thought about that during that episode...right?

The tower from the castle of the fisherking does me think of Orthanc. Just an example
