Gorgeous - where do you get the stones you use?Β

We are lucky to have one good store here in Toronto, but recently I noticed few new stores from India on ETSY - high quality stones of different sizes and for reasonable price.

Okay, was just curious! What's the name of the store?Β

Bamiyan Silver, it's wholesale. They might not have it now, I bought it a year ago.

Oh, cool! If I am in Toronto again, I'll have to check them out! I am not nearly regal enough to wear that piece - in fact, I tend to just buy the stones to look at!Β

If you need only stones this store would be better for you: geologicgallery.com/store/ - 2 locations in Toronto)
They have a bigger choice of naturally colored stones and it's cheaper. In Bamiyan you can shop only if you have a vendor permit (or HST registration) and you have to spend $150.

Oh, cool, thank you! That place is so my kind of store! I have a beautiful piece of Malachite in my jewelry box, and a friend said, "why do you even have it if you don't make it into jewelry?" She didn't see it as beautiful unadorned.Β

Some stones are very beautiful by themselves but sometimes it's possible to make quite ordinary stone into something much more interesting: blackcurrantjewelry.deviantart…

Aww, gorgeous job! As I typed that last comment, I realized I have 3 "neat rocks" on my desk as we "speak!" One of which could be jewelry in the right person's hands, one I drew into an owl when I was a kid, and one that is unspectacular when dry, but a lovely gold and grey flecked when wet - which it was when I picked it up. I keep as much as a remembrance of the day - my mum-in-law is getting elderly, and so for her birthday present the last few years I have driven her somewhere, and that was the year we went to Gloucester, MA - not terribly far away, but she wanted to see it, so we went, and walked a bit on the rather unspectacular beach - it's a working class fishing town, more than tourist place, and I picked up that rock that day!

I have also a small collection of jewelry and just stones with memories)

Aww, that's nice! Much of my jewelry is family pieces with stories, too!
