Such a realistic piece. I imagine he's coping with some sort of tragedy that has happened hence the sad look on his face. The markings look like tears which made me come to that conclusion. His eyes are beautifully done. Beautiful job!

Very expressive look! I like everything about the composition. his features and his facial construction (you can tell it is a very handsome specimen of a men ) and also how contemplative he looks, not least of which is owed to the soft bruchwork and glow. Speaking of softness, however, I think that the edges of the hair are way too soft and take away from the image, by looking inconsistent and unsure. My personal approach would be to use a slightly harder bruch but blend the edges with the background more gradually. I think your lighting is lovely and very appropriate with a good range of values. While on the subject of values, htough , I think th eimage could benefit from a little more defintion of the eyebrow bridge and a sliiightly higher vaulue of the most well-lit highlights. Lastly, I think some edges of the face, like the rims of the eyes or the mough or the nostrils could use a the same black as the one the hair because they are the main points of focus, yet the darkest values appear to be on the hair only. Stella job overall, though! Hope it helps

What I find most interesting, what not: The highlights and shadows, including the reflections in the eyes, are perfect. I also like the markings below the eyes, though they are a bit asymmetrical, the marking below the left eye is much more outwards than that below the right eye.
Can I see right away that is it a guy: Yes. It is easy to see because of the headdress and the beard, but even in their absence, it can be identified from the chin, nose, and Adam's apple.
Do I like the details: The details of the face are great, but the blur of the headdress is a bit smudgy. I don't like that both the frame and the background are white; I would go for a darker background colour.
Would I prefer it coloured: No, it is perfect how it is.
Overall, great work. Congratulations.

You should be, the skin looks great! I think the fabric could do with more detail though.

What do you find most interesting/attractive, what not? Can you see right away that is it a guy? Do you like the details? Would you prefer it coloured?
I love the way the eyes seem quite misty, filled with emotion. I also find the markings on the face interesting - are they tears?
I can definitely see straight away that the character is male: the line of the jaw, the beard, and strength of the mouth all show that well.
I love the details, but I also like that this is fairly simple. There isn't too much to take in so we can focus on the character himself. I think the blurred effect works well here to almost subdue the details, whilst still giving the image depth.
I would definitely not prefer it coloured - I love this just as it is, and I think colour would be unecessary here.

Wow 3 hours!!!! Wow!!!!
The texture on his skin is just amazing and his expression really looks like he is thinking very deeply!
I also like how you blurred the edges so his face really stands out a lot! WOWWWW!!

The quality goes down. Try using PNG instead

Question, did you use a reference?
You used a good choice for lighting. It really pops the shapes out and also gives it mood. I also like the graininess you used around the face to create a complexion and keep it from being perfect plastic. Very nice work.

I used multiple references, one for the head direction, the hood and partially for the eye shape; another 2 for the eye details, to understand them better; and another 2 for the lips, though in the end i did them mostly from imagination; nose is a combination of what i've seen on those previous refs i guess, but never looked at them in particular, went with the flow; hair, face marks and other details are from imagination; it was an anime reference for the overall character, so you can't really find someone who has all the features.
Which is a good thing, makes you improvise more, until you can work from imagination.
Thank you for taking your time to comment

That's pretty impressive that you were able to 'kitbash' a head like that.
