Matilda, happily plunks herself in the icy pond for a break after romping through the forest for several hours.For those that don't know her - we rescued Matilda in December when she was so emaciated she was barely clinging to life from chronic malnutrition and gross neglect. Her limbs are deformed and her atrophied muscles are slowly rebuilding with much hard work. Yesterday was the longest she has ever walked, and was over very tough terrain - she really earned a break in the water to cool her hips and rest her body.

This is a really amazing picture
I have a Newfoundland who was also rescued. No one knows exactly what happened to him, besides that he was brought to the vet and no one ever came back to get him.
I hope that Matilda is doing well

Thanks - she improves everyday. We hope by the end of summer to have her in as close to "normal" condition as she can be given her orthopedic issues.
