Originally I just did this for an art trade with so she knew what Ignis looks like now (note to anyone drawing Ignis right now, you don't gotta worry about the new design. It's mainly for HTTYD) for the trade.

His size only applies to the HTTYD world, in other worlds he is a size larger than an average passenger airplane.

Pronounciation: Igg-Niss

Name Meaning: Lightning in Latin

Nickname(s): Iggy, Lightning Bug, Stormy

DOB: Sometime in July

Family: Biological-Unknown, Human-Meg and her grandparents

Breed: Storm Blazer

Class: Strike

Age: 8 (18 in human years)

Gender: Male

Rider: Megara Pendragon (Meg for short)

Homeland: unknown

Current Residence: Isle of Moonstar

Personality: Playful, generous, curious, and always eager to help his rider. He is also protective of those he loves and holds dear and will fight for what he believes in to the death if it comes to it. He also likes shiny things like all dragons and despises eels.

Abilities:

*Electric Fire: Ignis' fire power, a mix of flame with lightning mixed in gathered from the storm clouds around it. The spines on his back help him to draw the lightning and store it like a Skrill.

*Thunderous Roar: Just a loud roar to alert and sometimes scare off other creatures and dragons. It sounds like a real roar of thunder.

*Lightning Wing: A rather dangerous (if Meg's riding at the time) attack in which Ignis surrounds his body in electricity, especially at the tips of the wings and dives, spinning, at his enemy for a full-on bodily contact attack. Until Meg is given the dragon hide cloak by Blackthorn for proving her worth as Ignis Sky Mate* this is an attack Ignis rarely uses unless desperate.

Wingspan: 47 1/2 feet (a tad shorter than a Night Fury to be exact)

Speed: 20

Intelligence: 99% (can even mimick human speech to an extent like Toothless)

Armor Strength: 18

Backstory:

Ignis was found by Megara trapped under a stalactite that had fallen on his tail. Luckily it only trapped the webbing of his fin but in his desperation to get away after fighting off some wolves with Meg that were hoping for a dragon meal, he tore it. With his tail damaged as it was he was unable to fly away. Meg found him and with some difficulty managed to ease him into trusting her before sewing up the rip in his tail. In this time they had started to bond more and after repaying his dept to her and saving her from a bunch rogue vikings from another island they have their first flight (during the struggle of course).

So after getting a saddle on him (with many modifications) and introducing him to the family things were a lot more exciting for the two. Their favorite sports being the Dragon Racing (a sport started on Berk years ago and spread as more tribes joined them in their Dragon Training ways) and a sport similar to Quidditch but only in the way it's like basketball. They also explore new islands and enjoy searching for gems.

As far as Ignis' background before meeting Meg goes however, not much is known about him until he and Meg run into the Prime Storm Blazers lair. The original home of Ignis' species. And the great Storm Blazer alpha, King Blackthorn, the only known Storm Blazer that has dared to extend the draconic mind connection to a human and learn their speech through it.
