Commissioned by a Belgian fellowmember of the National classic Japanese car owners club, but it came with 2 other cars from his collection.
The E80 Corolla was officially the first generation that (nearly) standard had an FF base chassis (*FF base means Front engined Front wheeldrive). This particular model, the 1.6 GT Twin-Cam, is powered by the very same legendary engine that was also available in the Corolla/Sprinter AE86, MR2 AW11 and Celica T16: the 1587cc fuel injected 4A-GE 16 valve engine. (producing over 120 hp, but it's an easy engine to tune, and also popular to swap into other classic Toyotas)

Here in The Netherlands was this sporty Corolla quite popular, but sadly because of poor rust protection, oval races (banger races/demo derbies), export to African Countries and youngsters who've raced these to their death (in other words, the scrapyard) have these become pretty rare to this day. Totally, just 46 AE82 GT hatchbacks are known to be registered in The Netherlands, where 12 of them are probably stored away, 3 have been exported abroad (pretty weird that their data is still in the database) and the last 31 are roadworthy with MOT. (which is more than I honestly expected)

I don't know how many of these are still registered in Belgium, but hope you guys like this 4A-GE powered Hot-Hatch!
