It's not an authentic Tiger! Those are Russian wheels and tracks. Looks similar to Tiger they made for Saving Private Ryan!

My tiger senses are tingling...this is a t-34 with a tiger shell over it.

You are right, and if I'm not mistaken, this tank was the one used in Kellys Heros, and Band of Brothers

This is with no doubt, the Saving Private Ryan/Band of Brothers Tiger, which is a mocked up T-34-85; which is currently used by the 9th SS Reenactment Group.

thats not really a "Tiger Tank" Its a Tiger Tank Mock Up on a T-34 chassis. The Tiger had overlapping wheel suspension system. This Tiger loos like it is in some sort of Movie, likely Saving Private Ryan or Band Of Brothers. Still cool though.

Thats a tiger tank outfitted with Russian suspensiton, like that of the T-34. Some Russian tankers would take abandoned tigers and fix em up, they were such great tanks

hate to disappoint you mate but it's not a real Tiger. it's a mock-up built on a Russian chassis.

The lack of interleavened wheels is one of the giveaways that this isn't an original.

The Tiger was awesome, but had it's share of flaws...

wasn't that Wittman's tank just before the Canadian's blew him to hell in Normandy?

No, I believe that tiger tank had turret number 007.

your right...my bad. I should have done my research.

I can only think of the irony that this thing would end up in the states.
yes...close inspection reveals the running gear to be whack but the turret, the 88 and the zimmerit anti magnetic mine paste are well mocked up

PanzerschreckLeopard [2009-01-06 02:22:05 +0000 UTC]

As Darkheart1987 said, this is a T-34 rebuilt. The real Tigers had much different running gear, and noticably larger.

If i'm not mistaken there IS a genuine Tiger I still running-the only one left in the world-in France. Yep, the real Tigers had the interleaved roadwheels and thicker tracks.

wow. i would love to see one up close, hear it run and maybe even sit inside of it.....

Darkheart1987 [2008-04-15 21:11:26 +0000 UTC]

Well actually this isn't a real Tiger. It's just a T-34 with a mock up of Tiger. Real ones had eight supporting wheels. i believe this is the tank used in making "Band of brothers" and "Saving private Ryan"
I'm into details

I'm in to details too and im sure that tigers have 24 road whell on each side, they were over lapped of coures

Darkheart1987 In reply to pacrj [2010-10-04 16:55:24 +0000 UTC]

I was referring to number of suspention-support wheel subsystems. Actually "Tigers" have even more wheels, the "E" version has 64(3 per each support axis, the outer set of wheels was probably intended as an additional shield) while the "H" has only 32(2 per each support axis), the inner wheels can be easily confused as a single (i've built scale replicas of both versions)

Ya, sorry about that outer single over lapped, and the inner is 2 over lapped, right?

An awesome tank...one that struck fear into the hearts of all who opposed it. They Germans really knew how to make absolutely impenetrable tanks....virtually juggernauts!

Germans are amazing like that!! Too bad its owner doesn't take better care of it or it would be really impressive!!
The Russki T-34 was pretty cool too... ^_^

Indeed! The Russians had some cool designs as well...my favorite has always centered on German armor though.

That IS a T-34 dressed up as a something almost resemlbing a Tiger...
Very sad in a way - the T-34 in itself ist historically valuable, fake Tigers should be built on T-54/55 - theres a lot of them an they have alsmost the same size..

Rommel101 In reply to RaoulKunz [2008-06-02 15:03:33 +0000 UTC]

Aww....that is a shame...its very sad that we have hardly any Tiger tanks left in the world today..:C The Tiger tank is a crowning achievement (and a prime example) of the awesome power of German armor.....that even to THIS day....all the other countries still have trouble matching.
