Just a random drawing I did last night of no one in particular. Originally, she was inspired by my character Ava - who has white lashes like that... but I never could get the white hair and brows to look right, so I just turned this girl into her own person. And I like it being somewhat monochromatic. Sets a lovely, strange mood ^^

Or something. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about anymore, eh? lol - shot- Pretty sure I got too carried away with the amount of details in that hair. o_0 Oh well...

As to the title... I guess during the course of painting this, I just got to thinking about my generation. And it just kind of struck me that gray really suits us.

We're stuck trying to find who we are in a world where it's wrong for parents to discipline their kids anymore. Where it's wrong to teach that homosexuality is bad, and we need to accept everyone - no matter what. Where no one dares to tell us how to feel or act, because life is too short to refrain ourselves from our desires. We're the generation that kicked that into high gear and spewed it across America and the world, for everyone to hear and see. Given no restrictions, we wander about - crusaders of our causes, picking up bits and pieces of what we feel and see and love - letting them color us. Define us. Give us direction in a world that has backed away with its hands in the air. But these colors we wear are not ours. We would die for you - but we don't even know how to fight for ourselves. At the end of the day, whether due to the negligence of authority or the human condition which drives us to search for something more - we are lost. Colorless. Undefined. Wandering legions dying to taste and see.
