Hello, everybody!

And it's ZALE! Been a while since you've seen her magical self, huh? That's actually exactly what prompted me to draw this picture.

For me, I take my stories and roleplays very seriously. I feel a connection to my characters as if they're real people. They often demand to do things that I wasn't going for in a story, or refuse to cooperate with plans that had already been laid out! They're real to me.

So when I lost a friend in Zale's roleplaying partner - it was doubly devastating. I felt like I had betrayed my characters and sentenced them to death. I'd shut the book on their stories and that's where I'd doomed them to stay - forever in suspended animation. No conclusions. No choice in their own fates. It was my fault and now they had to live with the consequences. And that weighed down on my VERY heavily - outside of the shock and sadness of losing a friend I'd known since childhood, which was crazy horrible. Albeit, my own fault.

Zale's story was a twisted one that, quite honestly, borderlines on the heretical. -dies- But out of all my roleplay characters with my friend, I empathized with her the most. And now that's all gone. What's Zale doing now? She was abandoned in a terrible place - and I know, without a doubt, that she would long for her roleplay counterpart who was an angel. Zale has always desired freedom - it's one of her greatest defining traits and motivators. Being trapped in limbo when her roleplay died, I can sense her resignation. Her sadness. How she would have said goodbye if she'd had the chance. Her muted thoughts in the stillness and silence.

It's never been strange for me to feel the echoes of other souls within my own. But sometimes, it does hurt a bit.
