Description This particular truck is a 1938 Ford Dump Truck. It no longer sits there, at my late grandfather's place. A friend of the family, who is a shade-tree mechanic, came and hauled it away in the mid-90s.

Too bad I couldn't have done something with it, but I was just a kid.

Here is a link to the truck I DID own as a teen. [link]

No, I'm not sure what became of it after he took it. He ran a mechanic shop on his property, and also had several thousand vehicles in various states in the back. I do know that less than 10 years ago he had a scrap company come in and haul off most of his cars and trucks. It was enough that he pocketed over 100,000 dollars.

Yeah...sometime I'll ask him when I see him again. Did you click on the link to see the other two old trucks I've known? They were both in much better shape, but both are gone now.

I did check out your link...man! you've got some sweet rides! That old 1931 Pontiac would be nice to ride around in. And that old Pontiac ambulance...very neat I would personally like to own an old Power Wagon. Those were killer machines! Thanks for the comment and interest

We had and truck from that time period abandoned in the back of the property out on the family farm. No knows how it got their or what happened to it. It disappeared about 10 years ago and it had been their at least 30. The farm is basically abandoned like the truck and it became an overgrown forest so it maybe still out there somewhere, just lost. Just like you, I was to young to think about wanting it and fixing it up...

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, when you're young, you often don't think of things that way. I had no idea how hard it would be to acquire vehicles like that as an adult.

Funny...I heard as a kid that a lot of times people would junk old cars and trucks even if there was something minor wrong with them. I never knew what had happened to my grandpa's truck, as in why he junked it.

I have heard that before. My Uncle did the same thing in the 80s. He didn't want to get rid of his old early 80s chevy truck, so he parked in one of the grazing fields and left it there. All because it had a blown transmission. It wasn't a bad truck, if was early 70s or a 4x4 I would grabbed 10 years ago. Only a few years ago, he had it hauled off when the truck was to far gone to restore...
