Looked like the window is closed now. The other night the guy was outside playing with his dog (probably playing fetch with a human femur).
When he went back in, the second the door shut behind him the upstairs light turned off. There must be someone else in the house now.

Good points. The first suggests an exaggerated Stockholm syndrome, the second a sort of reverse Stockholm syndrome.
The third point has various possible back stories. The other person could be a bound servant who keeps the house in order;
could be a silent accomplice, the one who does the dirty work, like the Gimp or Igor perhaps; or maybe he is the "father",
and sends the noisey guy out to bring home new victims. Maybe he is a she.
