A break from the vampire arts...

It's a long history, but I'll summarize it to say I never got to have a good relationship with my birth father, Marty. He acted in ways that resulted in me cutting off all contact with all family, until I heard of his death December 2017. And he will likely never have justice for it.

It was really only the start of 2020 that I truly began to mourn and feel about it; I mourn the father I never got to have. The version of Marty that I never got to truly experience.

Near the end of 2020, he visited me in dream several times; he no longer is misgendering me in the after life.
And I know that with the genuine Marty, he would be all over what I'm doing with my life and would be proud. The commissions; the performances. Hell, I probably would have been able to convince him to get into drag with me at some point.

I drew this so I could have an image with him; happy. And me, my authentic self. Just us, being our odd, dark selves.

I wish it could be a photo; I wish I could have him in my life now. I wish he could see everything I'm doing in person; that I could hear his dorky laugh and see his white side come out in his dance.

Today is is birthday. Happy birthday, Marty. I'm still going to come fight you in the afterlife; for fun. And for the record; the only reason I'm taller than him in this is because I'm wearing my platforms.
